I was really looking forward to the Thompson vs. Thatch fight because I'm buying the Thatch hype so far. I think he definitely has been looking like he's pretty special. Henderson is a MASSIVE step up for him (even for Henderson's first fight at 170) and I have a feeling the Thatch momentum train is going to be severely derailed.

That said, I think this is a great opportunity for Henderson for multiple reasons:

1. I'm glad he lost a close decision. I think he was getting too comfortable point fighting. He was clearly upset afterwards and with such a short turn to this fight I'm hoping the fire is there. Henderson is a guy that I think could finish most fights if he really committed to it. That's the Henderson I want to see.

2. Thatch isn't a big name, but he's a credible guy and Henderson is still fresh in everyone's mind. We all love guys stepping in and saving cards, so a big win for Henderson allows him a very quick rebound from a crappy fight and immediately gets his name put into the WW top-10 discussions.

It sucks, they should just go to same day weighins, and maybe change a few weight classes, 10 weight classes for men.
