Seeing Foos on December 2nd in Sacramento, I've only seen them once at Reading so it'll be good to see the full just them. I pretty much wore out the Wembley gig DVD. The new album's a bit disappointing but I'm still a huge fan.Just saw Foo Fighters last night. I like their music but I wouldn't really call myself a mega-fan of theirs. But I had a blast. They put on an outstanding show.
Yesterday would have been Tom Petty's birthday. During the encore they played Petty's old tune "Breakdown". You could tell Grohl was crying while he played it. Apparently they were pretty close. It was a cool moment.
Do you hate that weekend?Download is only 20 minutes from my house
That would be awesome. I've seen Satch before. He kills it.Oh, any proper guitar fanatics? I'm going to see G3. Satriani, Petrucci, Collen. Jan 14th. Petrucci OMG.
Then Machine Fucking Head March 3rd.
Tell me more about your Satriani experience. I've admired from afar forever. That would be awesome. I've seen Satch before. He kills it.
Have fun.
It was a long time ago. He is a phenom on the guitar.Tell me more about your Satriani experience. I've admired from afar forever.
What does your work entail?I worked a bunch of shows this year.... Shaky Beats in Atlanta, Sunset Music Fest in Tampa, EDC Vegas, Electric Forest in Michigan, Hard Summer Music Fest in L.A., Sun City Music Fest in El Paso, Austin City Limits in Texas, and Hulaween in North Florida..... Best one was ACL, I got to see The Gorillaz, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jay-Z, Ice Cube, Eagles of Death Metal, and The Killers (all between working with Martin Garrix and Chance the Rapper). Other Highlights this year for me were Griz, Big Gigantic, RL Grime, Bassnectar, Waka Flocka Flame, Migos, Snoop Dogg, Matisyahu, and String Cheese Incident (I worked with all of them, but they put on great shows, and I'm not naturally a fan of some, but much respect). Soundgarden was awesome to go see as a fan this year, I'm still devastated by the loss of Chris Cornell, and JJ Grey and Mofro were AWESOME too.
Yeah I saw Chris quite a bit in his career, it tears me up still. What does your work entail?
EoDM were the first band I was actually interested in a couple of weeks ago at Aftershock, they're so much fun. Set the scene for an amazing day of bands.
Feeling your Chis pain, I only saw Soundgarden once supporting NIN in Virginia Beach and only Audioslave once at Download. Poor Audioslave, it was the first Download and they were the last act. They were so awesome but half the crowd left due to the heavens letting rip. I blame weirdo Billy Corgan for that.
What a great job! What's the best show/festival you've worked?Yeah I saw Chris quite a bit in his career, it tears me up still.
I work in entertainment, everything from artist/performer to production/artist management... Last several years I've been going out as a Pyro/FX tech/operator for EDM artists and bands. I do stage pyro, flame effects, confetti, streamers, CO2 blasts, and lasers at music festivals across the US. I deal with the artists and their Tour Managers or Production Managers to set up their shows.
I do enjoy EDC Vegas and Austin City Limits. EDC for the large amount of pyro/flames I get to fire off (and the artists and performers are fun)... ACL because of the mixed genres of music. Truth is I have a blast (no pun intended) on every show I do.What a great job! What's the best show/festival you've worked?
You’re not in Sacramento with Foos tonight are you? Was just thinking of you watching their support act.I do enjoy EDC Vegas and Austin City Limits. Forgot to ask, you talking about pyro, have you done Rammstein before?I do enjoy EDC Vegas and Austin City Limits. I saw The Struts when they opened for Foo earlier this year. They put on a good show.
They really did, glam af too. I wasn’t really expecting to like them.I saw The Struts when they opened for Foo earlier this year. They put on a good show.
No. They played Another One Bites The Dust by Queen though.@Hauler Did Taylor do Under Pressure with the lead of Struts at your gig? Heard him sing before obviously but his voice was incredible.
Yeah they did Petty last night too, no tears though. I was thinking Struts were a bit Queeny last night.No. They played Another One Bites The Dust by Queen though.
My favorite was when they played Tom Petty's Breakdown during the encore. This was right after he had died. Grohl was crying when he was singing it. They killed it.
I've seen Extreme. They were awesome. I'm a HUGE fan of their first album. I think I saw them on their Pornograffitti tour - it would have been in 1991. They opened for David Lee Roth. I think Cinderella was on that tour too - those motherfuckers (Cinderella) are still to this day the loudest concert I've ever been to - and that was an outdoor show.Yeah they did Petty last night too, no tears though. I was thinking Struts were a bit Queeny last night.
Considering Extreme in Anaheim in January, because Nuno Bettencourt being amazing.
