I heard somewhere that this hobby has resulted in numerous deaths by electrocution, not 100% positive how true that is, but I'm pretty sure I read it on the internet so surely it must be true.

Wouldn't be surprised, I wouldn't open a microwave for a power supply ever. Anyone remember the kid that died years ago because he was trying to make a home made welder from a microwave that he saw on instructables.
