But on a serious note there are always exceptions.

As a general rule I'd argue that fighters are individually smart
but collective hapless.

Why is it they never organize and help themselves?

Its been how long with MMA now?... Pride, the UFC, Bellator etc...
and fighters still have not lifted a finger to improve their working
environment

In a joking way I'd call that "not too bright."

Auto workers and assembly men show more collective intelligence
to improve their environment then fighters do

Fighters deserve better but for whatever reason won't do anything
to better their situation.

That ain't so bright is what I'm getting at

Gaming industry is worth billions and still not fully unionised, workers get hammered.

Same with TV and film industry, large parts of it are not regulated properly and in some countries not at all. I work in that industry and some of the shit I have seen is fucking crazy, and thats just on the last thing I was involved in.

Not really disagreeing with you as such but can't really blame the fighters that much here, MMA is still in its infancy.
