I'm tempted to get an Oculus for that reason. The wire is a major hassle.
honestly mate, its one of the best presents I’ve ever had.

its better than when I got a ps one. A mega drive.
im not going to say Amiga 500 cos that really was life changing,

but this is as close as it gets

as a grown man to be blown away so often and surprised so much each time I strap on...

its the future and I’m glad I’ve always been an early adopter of all things tech.

Just read Sony is going all in on a PSVR 2 project. Looks like they'll have handheld controllers similar to the oculus. No idea what the headset will be like.

Lately I've been playing Hitman 3 on the psVR for ps4 (yes, it works with that system Hauler @Hauler). Incredibly immersive game but I'm not crazy about the controls.

They're fantastic. My friend has a Quest 2 with an extra battery pack and I actually prefer it to my Index. No need to setup lighthouses or a spare PC. Just strap it on and go. I'm sure your son would be happy to get one.

Another good game:

I never thought of battery life. What’s typical time you get n one charge and how long does it take to recharge? Are games purchased and downloaded to device or is there a steam type thing?

Games are purchased through the Oculus store and loaded onto the device. You'll be limited on how many games you can install by the storage space. If I remember right I wanna say the internal battery will get you about two hours of play, but with the external battery you can get five to six.

There's a bunch of extra games and demos on Sidequest too. Not too familiar with how it works, but I know my friend has grabbed a lot of games off it.

Dude. It's the best thing ever.

Do not delay. Get it. It's a game changer.

2d is gone. This is ridiculous.

Buy it.

I just tried an Oculus the other day. My neighbor got one for his kid and we took it for a test run. Pretty fucking wild, and awesome. I kind of want one now hah.

I don’t video game anymore as an adult so I’m way out of touch with what’s out there. but my son is at the right age for all of this stuff. He’s getting a Switch in a couple of days, but this would also be cool to add into the mix for him.

I bet the porn is so good doe
It's life changing. Imagine fully customizable high fidelity cgi models with multiple articulation points and preset animations that are responsive to your every movement. Plus massive live action video libraries of many many scenarios. All with you in the center.

Hilariously they've added a feature where you can stuff the controller in your waistband and it tracks your thrusts. But what kind of barbarian jacks off with their pants on?

I've seen so many videos of people walking into walls, falling into furniture, destroying flat screens...

It's a wonder this hasn't taken off.

Seems like a splitting headache waiting to happen. Games are already immersive enough for most peeps.

Too much so for me, motion sickness keeps me at turn based strategy and side scrollers.

I don't know anything about poker. You degenerate gamblers can't just chill on the beach?

All right, I'm almost sold. So I can buy a VR headset in the meet. You dorks for a poker game? And we would all have like cartoon looking avatars or something?
