He lost that opportunity when he fought prime Silva. Mike tried his best to make it to that title fight but always came up short. I guess he got some satisfaction after getting gifted a UD against Silva. That's completely ignoring the fight happened after a life changing injury and that Silva had him KOd earlier in the fight and decided to celebrate instead of getting one more in to seal the deal.
Barely scraped past him too, don't forget that part, or the partisan fans and judging.
Mike has a job with the UFC and a "hall of fame jacket" now though so we are supposed to pretend that was a good win and that he is a legend on Dans level.
"Decision Dan" comes from a run of about 5 fights against mostly heavy weights.

He has the lineal one from his win against Bisping in Manchester, retired the champ.
Cypres born, Polish blood, he was raised in England at least, probably why he moved to the states at the first opportunity and is raising his family there.
That and the greatest resume in MMA including a decapitation of Bisping, with arguably the best one punch KO in UFC history. Mikey can jab and jog to 50 decisions at home against Hendo and he is still his bitch.
Retired the champ, at 46 no less, what a legend. Bisping gave his shins a good beating, have to give him that, beat his fists up pretty bad with his face as well. He barely touched his ass.

Oh he was trying alright, trying to get knocked the fuck out, mission accomplished.
He did fight for Ireland at one stage, the pikey not the greaseball.
