Douglas Lima is not going anywhere.

The reigning Bellator welterweight champion has signed a new longterm deal with the company, Bellator officials confirmed to MMA Fighting on Wednesday.

The Brazilian told MMA Fighting he has a six-fight, two-year deal with Bellator.

Lima is expected to defend his 170-pound title against Rory MacDonald next, but the promotion has yet to announce a date and location for the bout.

"Bellator is my home, I am excited to continue growing alongside the company," Lima said.

Don't understand the time constraints When hearing what Rory has to say.

Didn’t Rory say they were shelving him till early next year? He is next in line, so that means that Lima will be shelved a bit as well. Article states that Lima has 6 fights / 2 year deal. So they are going to shelve Lima a bit then give him a ton of fight? Lima hasn’t been the healthiest, so, Timing/time constraints are throwing me off a bit.

Anyways, glad for Lima. One of my favorites regardless of orgs. He is very dangerous, but has obvious holes. Better work in tdd and sweeps because Rory will be taking him into deep waters.

If bellator would show fights in the uk and allow recording, I would watch

But they don't. It's always a week later and I don't want to watch fights a week later.

I already struggle with avoiding fight results with UFC fights until I can watch them a day later due to time difference. I can't shut off from everything for a week....just saying
