Not sure how Werdum is able to do this.
How much does Ryan weigh?
I wonder if Eddie has to play by athletic commission rules since it's his sport and rules, etc.
Also, they're doing it in Mexico so that makes a difference as well.
He's competed this year at anywhere from 195ish to 220ish.
Isnt it broadcast on fightpass?
223 last time he was asked about a week and a half ago
so -20lbs or so
but ryan is jacked and fabricio is not....right?
I used to be a fan of Werdum but his ties to Ramzan Kadyrov make me too uncomfortable to get behind him.
Ryan is a beast. My money's on him, even though this is outside strictly grappling.
This will be a HUGE test for Gordon.... He's owned the No Gi scene, he's probably the best grappler on the planet (beating all the top guys via subs, no decisions), and wants to make the move into MMA..... Beating a 2 time IBJJF, 2 time ADCC, 2 time UFC HW champ in a CJJ match is a great litmus test to his potential move into MMA (even though CJJ and MMA JJ/Grappling are really two different things)
but could he beat Uncle Renatch?
Come on be serious........ No one can
Whoa whoa whoa.. Stop the clock!
Let's not get silly here .
From Mexico to Los Angeles.
Grappling Report: Gordon Ryan vs. Fabricio Werdum moved to Los Angeles
Also, Josh Barnett and Rustam Chsiev have been added and will make up the other half of the four-man tournament.
I have to believe the California commission will have something to say now.
I saw somewhere Leduc AKA @Star-Lord was trying to get on this card. Not sure if he did or not.
i am glad this sport seems to be flourishing. werdum could absolutely batter this guy given the chance. but Gordon will surely insist on controlling the legs, not sure werdum could have an answer for the detail of the position and Ryan's understanding of it.
fuck in hell check out Ryan's record, 115 matches, 105 wins, 89 by submission
Gordon Ryan - Wikipedia
if there's not striking with closed fists, it doesn't require AC sanctioning.
Dude is legit.
Did not know that.
I was thinking after I posted Jones didn't have an issue so Werdum would probably be safe anyway.
Just saw this is in .
Couple years ago I was talking to Eddie and he told that CJJ would be legal in CA for that reason.
Other states may be different
Gordon jacked his knee this weekend at Kasai. Rumour is it's his LCL. He's likely out of this event.
It's official Ryan IS OUT.
“Thanks for all the messages about my knee guys. Just got my MRI results back…I badly strained my biceps femoris tendon and completely tore my LCL. Unfortunately I won’t be able to compete in @combatjiujitsufn this time around. Sorry Everyone, sorry @victordavilaufc, @eddiebravo10p, sorry to fans and the competitors. Gonna see what the best plan of attack is now for a speedy recovery. I’ll be back asap my royal guards. Dont worry”
