A few things, before we get started:

-This is just for fun. I realize it would never happen. Too much unnecessary risk for the UFC (they have nothing to gain and everything to lose from doing something like this). And these are just a few examples- the rosters are big enough that you could go wild and have all sorts of fights- these are just a few that would keep me awake at night like a kid waiting for Xmas until the fights started.

Michael Chandler vs Eddie Alvarez

Champion vs champion, and it completes the trilogy between them (with the score currently at 1-1). The previous two fights were absolute wars, and when this fight happens someday, I have no reason to believe it won't be as well.

Liam McGeary vs Daniel Cormier

Another champion vs champion fight. The only two fighters that DC has really struggled with at LHW are Jones and Gus, and while McGeary doesn't have Bones's wrasslin, he has the same body type, his striking is good, and he threatens with submissions from his back.

Chael Sonnen vs Anderson Silva

It would be worth it, if nothing else, for the avalanch of viagra jokes Chael would send Anderson's way :D

Patricio Pitbull vs José Aldo

Of course, if Aldo doesn't actually retire, cools down and stays with the UFC (not looking too likely at this point). Pitbull has wanted this fight for years.

MVP vs Stephen Thompson

No need to even explain why this would be great, right? It would be like watching video game characters acting out arcade moves in real life.

Rory Macdonald vs Robbie Lawler

It could never live up to how great the 2nd fight was, but knowing both guys, they sure as hell would try.

Anastasia Yankova vs PVZ

Here's why this fight would be great (no, not just the weigh in: put it back in your pants fellas). Both girls are the epitome of "not taken seriously as a fighter because of their looks" for their respective companies. I think they'd both walk in with a chip on their shoulder about wanting to prove everyone wrong and show that they belong.

Wanderlei Silva vs Vitor Belfort

Years in the making.....

Melvin Manhoef vs Hector Lombard

The man who should be the current Bellator MW champion vs the man who never lost the title.

Douglas Lima vs Cowboy Cerrone

Coker's knack for harnessing talent is legendary.
I'll admit it, I'm not sure who the scouts are or the methodology, but it's sound.

I would like to see more funky matchups. Rory said he eventually wants to move to middleweight. Who would you want him to fight then? What would happen if we said Rory vs. Anderson?
Chandler vs. Anyone else in the ufc lightweight division? Like Ferguson was a tuf guy. I'd rather see someone who built a career in Bellator against someone who built a career in the ufc.

I
If they did this once a year, like every December it would be like the Super Bowl of MMA (in the 'AFC vs NFC sense).
often dreamed about that when Pride was the big show.... Greed prevents the owners from working together. It's stupid because everyone would win in the long run fans get what they want and money would roll in.

Rory Macdonald vs Robert Whitaker if he made the move to MW.

Michael Chandler vs RDA or Conor if Eddie wasn't an option.

That would be great, but the UFC already considers itself the Super Bowl of MMA. To co-promote they would have to accept the other org as an equal and to them, that's a losing proposition (unless they're defending against an anti-trust suit).

OK.

But MVP hasn't even fought anyone close to top level.
I'd say he passed his biggest test so far.

Nov 19th he fights Fernando Gonzalez. If he wins that one impressively, he gets the winner of Lima vs Koreshkov 2 for sure.
