In the UK they are paying 80 % of lost wages up to 2500 pounds. Dunno how long that period is. I've seen people on Facebook saying they only getting 94 pounds a week.

I got my info from my accountant tho, I'm more inclined to believe he's on top of shit.

    @Kneeblock

You know what would be nice?

If we were able to recover that 2.3 Trillion Dollars that went missing and was reported by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld on 9/10/2001 the day before 9-11.

(That would be $8,000 for every Man,Women, and Child.)

Bozo has released a couple billion bucks for the health ministry and some millions for the education ministry; Requirements for public purchase of health production inputs have been raised; several public offices and liberal professionals have been allowed to work from home; state governments have ruled wide quarantines and closed boundaries among states; Bozo ruled a Provisional Measure allowing employers to suspend labour contracts for up to 4 months (then dicktucked within hours); nothing substantial; nothing aimed to help the economy or protect the people.

overall Bozo has downplayed the whole thing calling it a “little cold”, has been using it for electoral purposes trying to inflate his deep base which is formed by radical religious and flat earthers in general, and has been shady as fuck as to reveal if he is infected or not.

The number of Brazilians who think the moon landing was fake is astonishing.

They must all be Bolsonaro voters

I think it's great that you don't have to prove lost wages to get one of Trump's socialism checks

In addition to giving people back their own earnings they should cut all Federal and State taxes for the rest of the year.

Of course when people realize the difference they will lose support for their greedy socialist garbage.

Just read an article that states grants of 31 - 50k

Self-employed face waiting until May for coronavirus cash under new scheme today

I've no fucking clue tbh. I'm a one man gang. I dunno if I'll be entitled to shit. I diddnt think I was until I read these reports. Tbh I'd rather not be a drain and it went somewhere more useful, I won't be trying to get any of it until it becomes survival.

I'm not trying to milk anyone for anything. Plus when I moved to America I never filled out a single bit of paperwork in the UK. When I moved back I never did a single thing in America. I'm not sure how legal my jumping around has been. I just stopped paying taxes on earning in both tho at the time and emptied my banks.

PT and all of the left has been dead silent during all of the time that Bozo is trying to destroy the republic. Even more now during the coronacrisis. Their stance is "the worse, the better" so that they can blame Bozo come elections time.

Since Lula was released he gave one public speech and then vanished afaik. PT and other left-leaning parties are most likely trying to build up from their deep base. The one guy that acts more coherently is former PT's Ministry and perennial presidential candidate Ciro Gomes, who is the only guy that has ever laid out an actual plan to turn Brazil's fate around through a developmentalist (this word exists in english?) agenda (not sure if you seen it, he's the guy whose brother, who's a State Senator, got shot in the chest trying to run a bulldozer though a militia of policemen who were stationed in a police headquarter refusing to work and terrorizing their hometown, literally driving around flashing machine guns from squad car windows with black masks on their faces forcing businessmen to close shop and shit)

Our government passed an $84billion bill this week. The peasants are allowed to claim EI (55% of their normal wage) if they can't work because of the virus. So as far as I can tell, they're giving the money to the large corporations.

Why are you purposely leaving information out?

    @jason7Ǯ@jason7Ǯ here's the latest.

    Increasing the Canada Child Benefit
We are providing an extra $300 per child through the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) for 2019-20. This will mean approximately $550 more for the average family.

This benefit will be delivered as part of the scheduled CCB payment in May.

Those who already receive the Canada Child Benefit do not need to re-apply.

Special Goods and Services Tax credit payment
We are providing a one-time special payment by early May through the Goods and Services Tax credit for low- and modest-income families.

The average additional benefit will be close to $400 for single individuals and close to $600 for couples.

There is no need to apply for this payment. If you are eligible, you will get it automatically.

Extra time to file income tax returns
We are deferring the filing due date for the 2019 tax returns of individuals.

For individuals (other than trusts), the return filing due date will be deferred until June 1, 2020.

We will also allow any new income tax balances due, or instalments, to be deferred until after August 31, 2020 without incurring interest or penalties.

    Support for people facing unemployment
The new Canada Emergency Response Benefit
We will provide a taxable benefit of $2,000 a month for up to 4 months to:

    • workers who must stop working due to COVID19 and do not have access to paid leave or other income support.
    • workers who are sick, quarantined, or taking care of someone who is sick with COVID-19.
    • working parents who must stay home without pay to care for children that are sick or need additional care because of school and daycare closures.
    • workers who still have their employment but are not being paid because there is currently not sufficient work and their employer has asked them not to come to work.
    • wage earners and self-employed individuals, including contract workers, who would not otherwise be eligible for Employment Insurance.
The Canada Emergency Response Benefit will be accessible through a secure web portal starting in early April. Applicants will also be able to apply via an automated telephone line or via a toll-free number.

Support for people who are sick, quarantined, or in directed self-isolation

Residents of BC who can't get to work for the same reasons above can also collect a one time $1000 cheque. Not sure what other provinces are offering.

So they're offering people who are off work less than EI. Good deal.

What are you bent about? That I left out the $300 bucks people with kids are getting?
Unless my math is wrong (very possible) $84B divided by 30M is $2800. They'd be saving a fuck ton of money if they just replaced missing income for people out of work.

Bent? I'm not even giving an opinion on how good or bad it is. I'm just posting what Canada is offering. And be honest, no matter what Canada offered up you'd shit on it.

When someone says things like "purposely leaving out information" it kind of seems accusatory. Sometimes people just forget info that doesn't impact them.

I had really high hopes that the government would do something unprecendented, to meet the unprecedented event, that we wouldn't see a repeat of the corporate bailouts from 10 years ago. But all they're doing is more of the same; offering people EI and making it quicker to access. What I'd like to have seen is them say "Everyone who works is going to be given $3000 to stay home for 3 weeks." For people who make a lot of money, it'd be some extra pocket money, for the part time high schooler it'd be a huge score, for middle class folk it'd mean being able to self quarantine without fear of losing their homes or getting involved in a weird mortgage deferrment that the banks are being sketchy about. But ultimately it'd let this thing run its course over a shorter period and things to remain relatively stable for people financially. Instead they've come up with a system where we're spending more money and less of it is making it into the hands of the people.

Looks like the Congress just approved a $600 monthly wage for low income earners, individual businessmen, other vulnerable workers and unemployed as well. Don’t know for how long.

Doesn’t sound like much but brazilians are used to play on hard mode. This will be a huge help. I’m making a point to say the Congress did it because Bozo was on tv a couple nights ago calling the pandemic a little flu and telling people to go to work to save the economy.
