For me, the year was 1985. The experience: The Nintendo Entertainment System.
I remember getting fussed at by my folks because I was glued to the television rather than coming to eat dinner.

What was your "geek moment"?

The 'geek moment' is different than when i realized i was a geek ...

My geek moments:

1) I have old man memory sadly. My first comic was either a Master of Kung Fu (when comics was 25 cents going on 30 cents or 30 cents going on 35 cents) or a George Perez drawn Avengers circa issue 150 - that's my comics geek moment - late 1970's

2) I watched Five Shaolin Masters aka Five Masters of Death in a theater in NYC Chinatown. There may have been a few other oldschool Shaw Brothers movies I watched in that theater, but yeah, you know, old man memory :( , i only remember Five Shaolin Masters as my first movie in that theater. Sometime after, watched Bruce Lee movies and i was an oldschool martial arts movies geek. Mid-1970's

When I realized I was a geek was when the term 'geek' entered into my radar/consciousness... I used to just say I like reading comics or i like kung fu movies. Think it was 2004 or so believe it or not, that i learned the distinction between 'nerd' and 'geek'. Thankfully, i never thought of myself as a 'nerd'... watched the 1980's Revenge of the Nerds movies though lol

Pretty much when I was born as I've always been a geek and/or nerd....at least as far back as I can remember.

This one summer i spent entirely indoors creating an RPG with a buddy that was based on our circle of friends. And it was terrible haha.

I guess I was raised one. My dad and I watched lots of sci fi, lots. Fully supported my comic obsession and drawing as well.
