I know as it stands right now, Silva's last fight is still recorded as a win, but regardless if it's a win or a no contest, it affected him and his legacy in some fashion.

Here is the question. Which fight outcome of Anderson's last 3 fights is the hardest to overcome, mentally, physically, emotionally?

Anderson's 1st fight with Chris Weidman-
Anderson's invincibility was removed. He was knocked out cold, lost his belt. His aura, almost all of it vanquished.

Anderson's 2nd fight with Chris Weidman-
He looked like either Chris had his #, or he(Anderson) was losing a step. Anderson's leg snapped in half.

Anderson's fight with Nick Diaz-
He fought rather timidly, understandably so. The real talk of this fight, was the failed PED test. This sent shockwaves throughout the mma world, fans and fighters alike.

While he has yet to really overcome the first or second Weidman fight at this stage you have to go with 3 because of the test failures, although a lot of fighters have failed tests and returned to the top, Anderson with the intense scrutiny on his career and the flat out denial really hurts his legacy.

Every great fighter bar a handful will lose, that is expected if they hang around long enough, you don't expect the number one guy who was so vocal against PEDs and wanted harsher punishments to fuck up like that.

Anderson's 2nd fight with Weidman was the hardest to overcome.
i still think he tested positive on purpose, so he didn't have to choose between his family and fighting.

Interesting theory, I think he was pressured into the cage by the UFC, the drugs he failed for kind of point to that, he didn't really want to be in there...

Maybe he wanted to show the world he could still fight and win, if he only failed the pre test, i would not have bought it, but failing the post fight test for the same thing and than some, did it for me.

The Diaz fight. He got clowned hard, couldn't finish him in a fight where he was expected to, no killer instinct and then all the drugs. Too bad really as Im a fan.

True but at the highest level these guys aren't just fighters they are businesses, I know someone like Anderson could make money selling his used snot rags but when the show is still rolling (sort of ) its hard to step away and look for other income and to set that up to the level he is at now . That is why I think there was the pressure there from the UFC etc and the anti anxiety meds point to that.

Him failing an OOC is unusual but failing the pre and post which he is used to having done every fight is a bit suspect though I agree, just hard to see him doing it on purpose, it is an easy out allright, we will have to wait for a proper statement about what he is going to do next.

Very interesting poll results. I made the same thread on the UG and it was very one sided for option 3 his last fight.
