Daniel Cormier retiring by March? Think again, says UFC president Dana White.

Cormier, the UFC heavyweight champion, has said — dating back to over a year ago — he plans to retire when he turns 40, which happens in just a few months. But White said Saturday night after Jon Jones’ title win over Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232 that he expects “DC” to fight three more times.

“I was talking to Cormier during the Jones fight. He’s all fired up,” White said at the event’s post-fight press conference. “He was obviously very angry this week leading into this fight. There was talk from his camp about him retiring without…

I’d love to see the Jones trilogy but a part of me thinks DC shouldn’t agree to it.

I mean he can't beat Jones so he may as well just tuck tail and run like he did from 205

i am not interested in seeing another fight. there is no point jones beat him soundly twice. that is never a case for a trilogy. its not a rubber match so whats the point . plus jones is on fucking steroids and has outstanding drug tests that havent even came back yet. what is the point of jones winning a belt to immediately go fight in a different division?? who the fuck is dana to say when DC can or can not retire? if iwas DC i would troll the fuck out of dana and jon for about a year and then retire.fuck them both

He will do what he wants even though my friend Dana thinks differently

Dana always says “if a fighter is even thinking about retiring, I don’t dare try to change their mind. I would never do that as this is a rough sport with a lot of damage and if they want to go then I’ll stand by their decision”

I HKP as a fan and love this sport , would not buy a DC headlined event. No Bones or Brock for the Olympian. Sover.

Dana White quotes within 24hrs of each other:

    1. “B.J. Penn has nothing left to prove. I say it all the time — fighting is a young man’s game. This is not for older men. B.J. is a multiple-time world champion in multiple divisions, and he’s got nothing to prove. People love him, and he’s a legend, and he’s done it all. There’s nothing left to do, in my opinion.”

    2. “Cormier’s the man — it is not time for Cormier to retire. There’s big fights out there for him that people care about.”

Daniel Cormier is only 9 months older than BJ Penn.

Exactly. Now everyone knows just how far UFC will tilt the table to get the result they want.

DC is 40 and retiring. Jon is 33 and fighting. It's in UFC's best interests for JBJ to win.

Funny how he keeps trying to talk DC out of retirement though huh?

Egg is so full of it

What he really means is "If a fighter is even thinking about retiring, I don’t dare try to change their mind unless I can still make big money off their name. In that case... Fuck their retirement"

Add on top that he not only wants to talk him out of retiring. He wants
to talk him into fighting a steroid user that he literally just covered up for

He doesn't give 2 shits about DC or any other fighter he cant make a buck off
