The UFC and Conor McGregor have come to an agreement on their portion of the deal. The ball is now in the court of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his team with regards to a boxing match between Mayweather and McGregor.

UFC president Dana White told reporters Wednesday at an appearance before a Mets game at Citifield in New York that he has yet to talk financial specifics with Mayweather’s side. But they do plan on presenting an even split as a proposal.

“We haven’t even got there yet,” White said. “We haven’t even talked percentages yet. … Floyd can think whatever, but the machine that the UFC has and Conor McGregor alone is a machine by himself. I think that 50-50 is pretty fair.”

It remains unclear what percentages the UFC and McGregor have agreed to on their end of the deal. Mayweather negotiated a 60-40 split in his favor for his mega bout against Manny Pacquiao in 2015.

Can this potential bout approach the revenue that one generated? White thinks it could. Mayweather vs. Pacquiao did around 4.5 million pay-per-view buys.

“I think this thing does, conservatively, between 2-1/2 and 4 million buys,” White said. “Other people think more. … And this thing will kill it, globally. Conor McGregor and the UFC are huge in Brazil, huge in Australia, massive in the UK and other parts of Europe.”

50/50 split is laughable. You got a guy that has fought and defended titles against everyone, then a guy who has never defended a title. What that is about is the UFC taking 50% of Conors so the more they can get him the more dirty bag gets

and Floyd is the GOAT of PPV draws and Conor does good numbers when he gets a bolstered card.
Conor could sell a PPV with him just dancing round the octagon to the rocky tune. He's at a point where he doesnt need a bolstered card to get good numbers

I don't care how the fight goes, just want to watch.

Even if Conor gets dinged with FLoyd's perfectly placed shot and on queer street and immediately goes for a takedown and ground and pound shit out of Floyd and people jump in the ring to stop the fight, I'll still watch.

For the third time, that conversation turned into a shit show and we never bet.

You don't think Dana would say some shit like this in the press either way? Dana always negotiates publicly beforehand.
I made you a fair offer, you said it wasn't fair. I offered you one that was unfair (to me) and you said you wouldn't take it because it was unfair. The last time I asked, you said what you just said about, but the ball's in your court friend.

His lips are moving again...

Also what else is he supposed to say, he's gotta negotiate and you can't negotiate if you've already conceded your position.

Non news

70-30 for Floyd would be realistic.
When Dana says 50-50 split I don't think he's talking the split between Mac and Floyd. Notice he says 50 UFC/Conor ? Meaning Floyd's take is a much bigger piece than Mac's. If it entails the UFC's COSTS of putting on the show, paying other fighters, Promoting and putting the event on AND Conor's portion then Mayweather would be getting a much bigger piece of the pie than Conor. Basically Floyd just has to sit back and get 50% of the gross. That is one hell of a slice. way more than it sounds.

The breakdown
UFC 30% (paying for everything to put on the show)
CM 20%( Biggest piece a UFC fighter EVER gets paid)
FM 50%( He's Floyd!!)

If 50-50 is their starting offer then I think 60-40 to Floyd is likely where they will end up.

Floyd has a promotion team (tmt, or mayweather promotions) that has been in place for a very long time, and they have been proven to rake in the cash. The ufc wants in on that to the tune of an even split. Not ever going to happen. On top of that, this fight needs very little in promotion to sell like crazy. The reality is ufc just wants tons of money for conor's last fight, and the 50/50 split means they want in on mayweathers money as well. Mayweather may not be educated, but he is a businessman and knows when someone is trying to fuck him. His advisors and management aren't dumb either. Dana isn't dealing with one of his ufc fighters here; this is the biggest dog in the big leagues.
