White said it's not his fault McGregor won't be at the July 9 event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

"I didn't prevent Conor from fighting at UFC 200," White said. "I did not."

That's a bit of semantic gamesmanship, as it was the UFC which announced last week it was pulling McGregor off that card. White pointed out that, among other things, strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk flew in from Poland for last week's press conference in Las Vegas and Jose Also and Claudia Gadelha came in from Brazil, so he expected McGregor to be able to fly in from Ireland.

"If you look at the press conference, Joanna Jedrzejczyk who flew in to the press conference from Poland, Claudia came in from Brazil, [Aldo] flew in from Brazil. People came in from all over the world, Frankie's just getting home and hasn't seen his family. This is what we do. This is how it works. I didn't prevent him from fighting in UFC 200. He knew what the deal was, I told him what the deal was, and he opted to do that."

It is what you do, but eventually you're going to get to a point where your disconnect with the fighters and what they go through to make YOU money will cause a problem in the demands. It's not an unlimited leash for promotion commitment.

Eventually someone was going to come along apart from Diaz who got dismissed as a nut for it, and dispute their share relative to your spam promotion. If Conor and Ronda (assuming she came back) both said they weren't going to cooperate with the commitments anymore the UFC would change real fast how they do this.

They're playing chicken both assuming they can hedge their bets. We'll see.

He didn't say anything new, he's just resorting to semantics.

Conor didn't want to do a press conference so Dana pulled the plug. That's basically what he's saying.

It's like a cop saying "I never pulled you over... you pulled YOURSELF over by speeding." Child please.

Now his card is contingent on Jon Jones getting cleared by a doctor and a 37 year old AKA fighter not pulling out of a fight... lol, Dana is a true gambler indeed...

Meanwhile Jose Aldo slept in yesterday and missed a couple of radio appearances in New York (Frankie Edgar had to go solo). Nobody gave a shit about that. It's all bullshit posturing by Dana.

"I understand that he has an obsession with beating Nate right now and he wants to stay focused and stay the course at all costs. I get it. But at the end of the day. it says in your contract when you sign that you have to do reasonable promotion. This is reasonable promotion".
-Meisha Tate

Cowboy stated this as well. Conor lost vs the UFC get over it, he will fight again soon. Don't bite the hand that feeds.

I'm not sure, I think they need a minimal of the top 5 biggest draw they have for something to happen or all the current champions would have to be in same page. Why do you think they easily called Conors bluff.

If your looking at the money side 1 or 2 top draws vs UFC/Fertitas (Billionaires). it's not really a challenge IMO. For them to have a serious chance vs the UFC they would need more unity. It would be sweet if all the Top draws went against the UFC.

"Bret screwed Bret"
Came here to say this.

"I didn't screw Conor. Conor screwed Conor."

Having said that, I'm expecting one of 2 things. 1) Conor will still be on the UFC 200 card. 2) They'll milk the Dana rivalry for all it's worth and UFC 201 will end up bigger than UFC 200 because it'll be Conor against "the bosses guy"

It's Lorenzo! that won't allow Conor to fight... Dana is just no2, we should all call him no.2, poor egg taking the heat for his big boss. Dana is a loyal company man.

Still plenty of time for these girls to sort out their shot and get Conor in the card. The UFC will watch ticket sales and if they feel it needs help they will give in and make the fight. Dana will say it's because the fans wanted it blah blah blah. Nate said he's going on vacation, but I guarantee he could be convinced to get another huge pay day and red panty night

He had said something along the lines of "we're still good with Conor..he just..it is what it is!" Can't remember the exact quote but he sounded heart yolkbroken.

Dana doesn't get to make big decisions like this, he's just a Fertitta sock puppet. . It is known.

The UFC doesn't have to do anything.

I have no sympathy for McGregor here. He's getting aid the mega bucks and still behaving like he isn't getting paid enough. He'd still be on welfare if it wasn't for the UFC.

It's weird how everyone seems to be assuming they know more about what's best for Connor than the man himself. He has the experience in this, not us and if he thinks that just showing up to do the media obligations will result in MORE time away from training than is reasonable then he's likely correct. Why's that so hard for people to compute?

He didn't mind Nate having to fulfill all his media obligations on 11 days notice.

Conor pretty much pulled himself when he didn't do the press conference.

No big deal. He will headline 201 or 202. UFC 200 is stacked nicely without him.
