UFC president Dana White was in attendance at RFA 37 on Friday night filming "Dana White: Lookin' For A Fight" and during the broadcast, he told AXS TV commentators Pat Miletich and Michael Schiavello that UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler's next fight will be made official soon.

White said that Ruthless will likely fight top contender Tyron Woodley at UFC 201 or UFC 202. Neither pay-per-view card has an exact date at this time, but they're targeted for August and September, respectively.

Glad to hear as Woodley deserves his shot, but they keep putting all the big fights around 200 so what is going to end up on 200 to make it buyable? I'm guessing they're banking on DC/Jones 2.

Agree, Robbie can take a significant amount of shots while also delivering many and tyron will fall first.......
not only that but if Woodley trying for the take down Lawler has stuffed takedowns form much better wrestlers. it will strictly be a standup fight and Robbie TKO's him in the 3rd.

These are my thoughts as well; woodley has power in his hands and is very athletic, but he just hasn't got the gas tank. Dude is always sucking wind by round 3.

Robbie has proven that he can go a hard 5 with the likes of hendricks. He went a hard four with Rory. He went 5 rounds with the cardio freak in condit even rallying late on in the fight and clubbing condit with heavy heavy shots.

Luckily for woodley, Robbie seems to prefer to fight at a measured pace. Woodleys best bet is to take advantage of that early on; he will have to play with fire to do that though. If it goes passed 2, it's Robbie, tko.

Just saw the Condit fight again last night my god Robbie poured it on at the finish.

Woodley's a good fighter for Robbie to show off his skills against so i'm all for it. Time for ruthless to remind everyone why he got that nickname. Robbie by KO.

Wtf so they go with Woodley over Wonderboy and a Condit rematch. Does anybody remember woodleys last fight it was one of the worst fights ive ever seen.

I dunno, I think the challenger has a decent shot. If he plays to his strengths and the champ let's his ego walk him into a slugfest then the challenger has a reasonably good shot of putting him to sleep. If Lawler forces Woodley to try and be creative and varied then I see him catching Woodley on some predictable entries.
