Conor McGregor’s UFC return is one step closer to happening.

UFC president Dana White confirmed Wednesday that the promotion is considering booking the Irishman against Donald Cerrone at a Jan. 18 pay-per-view card in Las Vegas, likely to be called UFC 246. White said that the fight is far from official, however.

“We have nothing done, nothing is even close to being done,” White told TMZ. “So I hate to even talk about this stuff and say it, because it might not happen, it might happen. But we’re looking at ‘Cowboy.’”

McGregor claimed last week at a press conference that he will return to the Octagon at the Jan. 18 event, which…

I don't want to be rude because you're the man but the word delusional comes to mind. ;)

Nah but in all honesty, even though Gaethje is an incredible fighter with a deep well of heart, he's one of the more favorable match ups for Conor. He seems to get wobbled fairly easily and Conor has unbelievable timing. Especially against opponents who don't threaten with takedowns very often.

Conor has no reason to fear a fight with Gaethje. However, he may feel Cerrone is the easier fight.

Yeah, this is just the fat bald cunt being out of touch. He's in the middle of selling a 'fun' fight and in his mind Cowboy vs Conor is another 'fun' fight that people are clamoring for.

Cowboy has just been stopped and completely outclassed two fights in a row. Thinking you will be able to build hype for a Conor fight is just silly.

a fun fight in danas eyes is a fight where conor can fight a guy who is at the end of his career ,coming off losses and is willing to stand and trade shots until he gets KOed .the last thing dana wants is for conor to fight someone who can end his hype train before dana can squeeze another 100 mil out of him. conor has already lost a lot of his shine and appeal . he cant really come back in and leap frog over everyone in the top 5 to get a title shot but after one win it wont be a problem . that being said i hope conor counts on cowboy being a punching bag and ends up getting arm barred

Conor has been rocking the pedo glasses for a long time. It's a bit unfair to insinuate that he rapes kids though, as it does appear that he is more into raping fully grown adults.

Not that bad man, Donald still has some gas in the tank.

Garcia is shot years now and Chuck is an OAP.

Donald can't live with pressure, will eat straights down the pipe all night, his chin is also not what it was.

Mc Gregor has looked like shit the last few years though, Cerrone could suprise him he is an underrated grappler and has a decent gas tank, both Conors kryptonite.

Its still an interesting fight, if you are interested in watching this rapist wank stain fight at all.

He shouldn't get a title shot if he can win it though, which is what the UFC will try and push.

Neither Eddie or Poirier were "starched"

He clipped Dustin behind the ear, he wasn't asleep, follow up ground and pound was viscious though, but again didn't put him to sleep.

Eddie he overwhelmed, finishing combo was outstanding, never put Eddies lights out either though.

He has one clean KO in the UFC, Aldo.
