The hot topic of discussion, RR vs Cyborg I thought of another interesting variable that I'm sure has mixed views, and am wondering what this site's take is.

Who is at a bigger disadvantage-
Ronda having to fight at 145 when she's looked dominant at 135?
or
Cyborg having to fight at 135 when she's looked dominant at 145?

I think Cyborg having to cut to 135 is definitely a bigger disadvantage. If reports are true that she was 175 in the octagon Friday night, that's a hell of a cut/commitment to get to 135. You have to wonder what impact that will have on her performance...if she makes it.

The quick answer is both. If Rousey fought Cyborg at 45, she'd have a huge disadvantage. But if Cyborg has to drop her muscle mass and dehydrate her body to get to 35, I don't know if she could beat the top 4 UFC BW's.

Cyborg would be at a bigger disadvantage. Shes missed the weight at 145 before. If she would quit the sauce long enough I think she could make it with Dolce's help.

Shes a big gal though.

No doubt in my mind she's off it now, and likely has been for a while now. She knows where the $$$$ is, and that's at 135. As fans, let's hope she makes it someday soon.

I see the UFC creating a 145 division, there is no way they will allow Bellator to have a 145 and not them.

Ronda is undefeated at 145 and 135, so I'd have to go with Cyborg being at a disadvantage if she is forced to cut down to 135. The move is to create a 145 pound division, with Cyborg as champ. She rarely fights as it is, so if she goes in and blasts out two challengers in one or two rounds over the next year, then so what? Ronda's taking out challengers to her title in less than a minute, in between shooting scenes for her next movie. After a year of Cyborg being slightly more active, and Ronda submitting either Holm or Bethe, make the super fight.

This fight is light pac/pbf. Wayyy to late. Ronda and Floyd played it smart and waited/are waiting for their opponent to show signs of slowing.
If the pac/Floyd would've happened after Hatton, I'd be a hell of a lot more interested.
At this point, both Ronda and Floyd have developed too much while pac and cyborg have stayed about the same or slowed.

Pac looks different in his last few fights, no question, and not to take this thread too far off track, but Floyd has looked a hair off of late as well. Both fighters are still winning in a dominant fashion, but I think we'll always wonder what could have been if this fight had been made when both guys were in their primes.

Cyborg has looked about the same, and it's worth noting that Rousey and Cyborg are 28 and 29 respectively.

I think Rousey would be at a bigger disadvantage. Cyborg could diet down to 135 over a number of weeks and be lean and strong at the weight. If Rousey fought at 145, she would not be as lean and muscular. I think both would lose if they changed weight class to challenge the other.

Rousey has fought at featherweight before (all first round stoppages), and she's fought as high as 150 (first round stoppage of Charmaine Tweet).
