such a crazy expensive and risky move. contracting 50 or so fighters who have pretty much all quit. the money involved!

the only certainty they have is struggling to get ppv off the ground. then building a real roster, rather than cash-grab 40 year olds.

who is funding this? is it a giant laundering operation? who is putting up this much cash knowing that at best only 25% of it can be recouped?

the league as it stands has zero longevity or future . other promotions have used ufc cast offs and retirees in the past (bellator, Rizin) but also had their own home grown talent . it doesnt fare well that they are banking on guys like shogun or tony ferguson who might only fight one or two more times......then what? what comes next? they need a roster of up and comers if they want to have a future. the roster as it stands makes me think the GFL will be around 1 season...make zero money and either fold or have to reinvent itself to make money
