Eddie Murphy was the only one who made me go out of my way to watch the show.

John Belushi probably would have had the same effect, but I was too young when he was on.
 
Man. Super tough question. Farley was the one that would be making everyone laugh. Everyone wrote him into their sketches because it was a guaranteed laugh. (I read this in a few Autobiographies). He could make anyone laugh. Kids to old people. He just had that charm.

But he didn’t have too much of a career after SNL. He had movies everyone loved, but didn’t really have a whole lot due to his death.

But then you have folks like Bill Murray. He had a rough start in SNL and a lot of people weren’t fans at first. But he had a successful run and a fantastic movie career.

Eddie Murphy was wildly popular in SNL. He had trouble getting on initially because they already had a black guy on the show. But when he arrived, he ARRIVED. Also had a very successful career after.

Billy Crystal, similar story.

Adam Sandler. People like to make fun of his movies, but they are also successful.

Sandler, Murray, and Murphy might be my top 3. Myers has to be the dark horse of the bunch. Shrek, Powers, Waynes World etc..

I didn't watch SNL as much as I should have.But I would crack up every time I seen Chris Farley pulling up his pants.
