Spoiler: Spoiler about the final fight

In the final climactic fight of the movie, Jackson is well and truly getting his ass handed to him by the bad guy, until one moment when Jackson suddenly exclaims "Now you've PISSED ME OFF!!!" and then proceeds to smash the bad guy six ways to Sunday. Why didn't he just do that from the start lol.
