Holly Holm suffered her third straight loss at UFC 208 on Saturday in the hands of newly-crowned women’s featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie. Normally, such a losing streak would put any fighter on the UFC roster in danger of being cut.

But if you ask welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, Holm should not be given the boot just yet. Instead, he believes the former women’s bantamweight champion should consider taking a long layoff and take on ventures outside of fighting, just like how Ronda Rousey did.

“I never want to give the pink slip to any fighter too soon,” Woodley told TMZ Sports (via MMA Fighting). “That’s a decision they want to make and they need to make themselves. I think…

Holms need to be aggressive . she plays it too safe .
Woodley should go back and fight racists (imaginary ones he created)

Holm needs to fall in love with grappling, and maybe work with someone like Nick Curson to get her nervous system under control.

I think it is good advice coming from Woodley here. It has got to be mentally messing her up now that she is on a losing streak like that. And even in her latest fights, she wasn't going to win anything convincingly soon. Holding back too much, not going for the killer instinct such as her Ronda match. But, every passing month it seems, women's MMA is going up a notch.

I disagree. Rousey got destroyed twice. Holly fought well against Tate and the fight was even going into the final round. Schevchenko and GDR beat her but it wasn't like they straight destroyed her. Heck a lot of people had her winning the GDR fight.
The point is that Holly at 0-3 is in a very different place than Rousey at 0-2. Rousey looked completely outclassed and incapable her last two fights, not Holly.

She lost 2 fights because of stand up not grappling .

Holly lost her most recent fight due to her inability to get a single takedown against someone not particularly known for their takedown defense, which was clearly a huge part of her game plan. I think the judges realised that as well. She'll continue to be tentative against many of the top contenders at 135 and 145 (namely Cyborg) for fear of being taken down unless she does something to address that part of her game.

Learning that will be too much for her . Its better she sticks to take down defense and uses her striking effectively .

holly has been figured out, that seems to be the issue to me; she isn't a great striker technically or strategically, alot of her success is based on athleticism and activity/volume... nothing really technically impressive or creative and her boxing is overrated..

if u don't press or chase her, holly has a hard time being efficient offensively or consistent....in her last two she was soundly outstruck, most girls can't do that; but nunes...valentina..gdr and chookigan can, they have the athleticism mobility footwork and tech to expose her. So in those instances she has to dev alt routes to get to a goal..

she is on the downside of her career to be honest and isnt great at making adjustments...

she can beat alot of regular girls but not the very best, her game is one dimensional and not great in those dimensions
