My homie shaun had a position in twwp and a civilian contractor position at the same time. He owned a brand new Lexus and a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Take from that what you will.

I hope beyond hope that twwp isn't scamming veterans. Not a good idea to piss off that particular group of people.

The website that the article tells you to use when researching charities gives Wounded Warrior Project a pretty good rating. 84.52/100

I think the article is pretty suspect. Under Armour, the NCAA, and NFL all partner with the Wounded Warrior Project too. I think the executives making that kind of money for a charity of their size is pretty standard.

The BBB rates them well, and from what I had heard the tax filings that the article is based off of doesn't actually paint the whole picture and is an incomplete source.
Charity Report - Wounded Warrior Project - give.org

This is one of the 20 standards they must meet to have the rating they do.

Board Compensation - Not more than one or 10% (whichever is greater) directly or indirectly compensated person(s) serving as voting member(s) of the board. Compensated members shall not serve as the board's chair or treasurer. - See more at: The care we put into our reports - give.org
I'm not a financial guy so all the numbers don't mean shit to me. But I'd be really upset if the article paints and accurate picture.

The BBB rates anyone well if you pay them $525 a year...... inside sources.

I saw this coming years ago and I got called a piece of shit for saying this a long time ago.
It isnt really a scam. It is dishonest and not right but perfectly legal if it was done right. Non profit org's have some of the highest over head and operating costs. If it was a buisness it would fail. The entire model is fucked up. When I was in the Navy I was a CRF (i think thats what it was called) rep. Anyway, Every year I would go to every individual at my unit and ask if they wanted to donate a percentage of their paycheck to a non profit org. Most people were gracious enough to donate a portion of their paycheck.

I was given booklets and paper work to give to each person. In the booklet were hundreds of organizations to choose from. Since i was the rep I was given a whole lot more info on these "not for profit" orgs. In the information given to me, every organization that was an option also had it's yearly overhead costs vs what it earned through donations. I cant even begin to tell you how little of the money actually makes it to the intended recipient. Some have 80-90 percent operating cost. Shit like the founder lives in a multi million dollar house that belongs to the foundation he created. Stuff like that.

So When I found out I told everyone what i had discovered. Nobody wanted to donate and I was no longer welcome in the program.

Ugh I hate reading about this shit. Greedy fucks.

Charities have the potential to be the biggest rip offs because people don't bother to research them. And most people don't care, they just want the feeling that they are doing something good and they don't want to challenge their own beliefs.

This is par for the course with a lot of charities: the vast majority of your donation goes towards paying the ridiculous salary of one or more heads. Fucking ridiculous. I'm not religious but I love the Salvation Army because they do it the right way.

Make A Wish and Salvation Army are the only ones that get my money. I make exceptions for locals and projects such as TheBigPygmy/JustinWren @JustinTheVikingWren(FFTF) are working on. Local charity and volunteers work, if you really want to be of help. Awareness and research is a requirement before writing that check.

I would be shocked if the WWP is a scam. I would be pissed.

Might be standard for other type of NPO but these guys are supposed to be helping Vets with their problems, medical, financial, relationships, etc... From 2010-2013, i've been around these veteran NPO and was part of some of em. The place that I was at helped me the most taking care of my debt, getting my service connection taken care of, and they were scrambling for funding and I knew that at some point when they were really low, the director of this place dropped his own money to pay out the emoloyees for 3months.
I've seen the WoundedWarrior guys cuz they used to coordinate shit with us. WW guys are always dressed nice in their WW gear with 5.11 type of pants and jacket and they all get that shit from the WW. So, my point is I don't know a single person, vet who got what they needed from the Wounded Warrior, except I remember they gave away free Niners tix
