This past Monday afternoon in Manhattan, World Series of Fighting officially opened their New York office and held a small event to christen it.

World Series of Fighting CEO Carlos Silva and COO Michael Mersch were on hand to give a speech in front of their board members, a handful of local fighters and a few lucky press people. Several members of their Board of Directors were also in attendance, including Mark Ford,Executive Vice President, Global Advertising for TIME, Inc.; Mike Stevens, Senior Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer for the New York Giants; and John Weiser, President, U.S. Distribution for Sony Pictures Television.

Considering rent here and the performance of their events, this may not have been the best strategic move.

Also, a pox on Mike Mersch.

The fact they are broadcast on NBC Sports is such a limiting factor for them.

NBC Sports was only on the absolute highest tier package of Dish, a price I was not willing to pay for one channel.

As cord cutting becomes more and more common, this is going to be a real issue.

I'm personally down to watching PPV's at home or Buffalo Wild Wings, Fox and FS1 cards, Fightpass stuff and AXS. Spike (Bellator) and NBC Sports (WSOF) are no longer worth the price.

Fightpass right now is the absolute best deal for content right now. $10 a month and a lot of events from different orgs, including my favorite, Invicta. My only issue with Fightpass is the terrible, stuttering streaming of it's archived content. It's live events are trouble free.

I could've sworn WSOF wouldn't survive another year, heard they lose a lot of money.

I'd be ok with this. I'd love to see Gaethje in bellaton. Gaethje vs MVP is must see tv.

I'd pay $10 to watch that live.
What fight has MVP shown high level potential?

He lands all these insane techniques, but against who? I'm afraid the first time he fights a legitimate opponent that he will be just made a joke of.

But I hope not, would be cool to see him continue doing his thing.

My point is that I think Gaethje would wreck shop.

Vegas has big bathrooms and after walking around for a little bit 7am, everyone is excited to see bathroom. Mostly 7-8 guys in a stall to do lines off the top of the toilet paper dispenser.

Hotel party, non smoking room, about 20 people, lots of people escape to the bathroom to smoke and take a break from the craziness in the room. People would get stuck in bathroom from ekg. Or just to smoke some herbs. The bathroom was really fun that night. At one time I counted about 8 or 9 of us in the cramped bathroom.

Gaethje is proven. mVP not so much, but fun to watch. Gaethje would test mvp.

I'm a big fan of Gaethje.

Every year that seems to be the rumor...and then they just keep plugging away. I don't know how much money they're making, who's invested, or whatever...but props to Ray Sefo & the gang for keeping it going.
