I just think that more could be done to make names for younger guys
And that's where the UFC needs to get their shit together, which I think we can both agree. The old guys shouldn't have to retire, in order for the new breed to get recognized. The new breed need to take some lessons from guys like Conor, promote themselves, and take every opportunity presented to them in the octagon. And the UFC needs to promote them more.

Does anyone really want to see Marquardt back in there either? I had a lump in my throat last time, and won't be watching another card he is on.
Another one that should probably look into walking away while he's seemingly healthy as well. Good point.

BTW, I'm not being optimistic Zeph :) I did say my plan would be impossible because of the stigma. It's possible, conceivable, but that's about it. But IF that stigma were to go away, regulation would be optimal. Until a foolproof way to catch every user comes around, we should consider regulation.

What really galls me is Zuffa is built on the backs of men like him and they are willing to just fuck them out in the cold with nothing when they retire..

Which is why I wish they would create a retirement fund for all of the fighters on their roster. Any reputable financial firm would jump at the chance to manage it. Take 6% of the fighters purses and deposit that directly into their individual retirement accounts & match the 6%. It would be huge for the fighters, and a big PR splash for Zuffa.

Beautiful solution get the right management in place and grow the fund properly, we can only hope someone sees the light and guys will be guaranteed dignity for them and their families post retirement.

Yes but they are getting rich off the backs of the forgotten. Margeret who gets the coffee probably has more saved then the ones that should be getting it

Plus lets not forget the soon to be challenged uniforms. When your made to wear a company uniform.. well we all know they are employees. I see that being defined in the courts soon. Maybe even thrown into this current lawsuit

As I maintain, as long as they are tangibly serious and competent with it (a stretch unfortunately) full guns and support from me, but constant TMZ incompetence and questionable legitimacy every few events is the worst possible station on the dial in this between none and full effort. Half measures destroy everything, I know I live and drive in Toronto. You can't count on keeping momentum and the suspension of reality that emotion and enthusiasm creates. It kills the flow of the sport when you aren't full measure trying on this type of issue. You get huge peaks and giant lows, what they need is a consistent above average hum and peak events that occur. You're driving a car blind with half-measures.

It's the same as your boss never telling you what he exactly wants out of you and consistently changing his mind. Be clear, be final and be concise and go for it. It's harder to save someone drowning in a deep puddle of mud than it is to pull them out of a crystal clear ocean.

It's bad, dangerous, a black eye to the sport and it needs to be rid of. However, I know this is going to be bad for awhile, I'm not looking forward to the next year, but I honestly want a clean sport even if it means guys end up fighting more in the style of a Michael Bisping or even Cathal Pendred, over super athleticism & power of a Tyron Woodley or Yoel Romero. This is not to insinuate that any of those men are or aren't on PEDs, just making a comparison.

So instead of watching exciting fights with guys fighter at their full potential you would rather watch boring fights with no finishes?

Yes its dangerous. This aint ballet. The guys who dedicate their lives to this sport know its dangerous.

The commissions will never be able to take steroids from MMA or any other sport. All they are doing is taking big fights away from the fans and taking money away from the fighters.

I dont think the fighters should be on PED's. I think if caught they should not only be fined but they should get sued as well for the past money they've earned. At the moment its a small fine. Its almost better to cheat and get fined for a bigger payout if you are the tail end of your career. Finally NSAC made longer suspensions so it matters more.

But i think the PED's help with recovery, strength, conditioning in a fight. They need to be made an example of.

Yes. If I knew for an absolute fact that every single person on the roster is clean, yes I'd rather see less entertaining fights with less finishes. I know it's not possible, and cheaters will always find some way around the rules, but if this makes it exponentially more difficult to do it, I'm ok with that too.

By looking at your screen name I'm surprised you are not in support of PEDS :D
Very funny sir! I kinda thought twice about it before I picked it for that reason, but it's been my nickname for damn near 2 decades now, so fuck it. Some people might think I'm Victor Gracie's supplement provider, but if they see my physique they should see right away that I'm more prone to pizza than Winstrol.

I think it would be morally bankrupt for the sport to encourage kids to get involved while silently advocating PED use. By advocating I mean doing fuck all about it.

Also from a competitive standpoint (long term health issues aside) allowing PEDs doesn't allow all of the fighters to have access to all of the PED's. Money is key to getting the better gear and we shouldn't forget that. Younger fighters coming through would always be at a disadvantage. A free for all is not an even playing field. And people would still cheat to get an advantage.
