This afternoon I took what was left of my lettuce and chopped and dropped it in place then put fresh cow compost on top and put in new plugs. I've got black seeded Simpson, prizehead, ruby leaf, merlot, and freckles.
Not garden, but I got my first chickens this am.

I've thought about getting some chickens, but I just have too many coyotes to risk it. I'll let the neighbors feed them with their chickens.
I picked leaves a few weeks ago for a few salads and now it's filling in slowly but surely. I think from here on out I'm going to stick with cut and come again (cut full head just above the crown) because I'm not getting the growth rate I like. Maybe I picked the leaves when the plants were too small and that's why they didn't have the energy to recover quickly...dunno.
What is interesting is the whiskey barrel that gets tons of shade (last pic) is the one that is doing the best - by far. That is usually the one that does best in summer heat. Odd.
I just sowed 2 trays of new seeds so I'll be ready to replace these after a few more cuts.

Do you niggers grow dill?
I've had an ongoing issue trying to get my slaves to grow my favorite herbs; dill, fennel, cumin, and oregano.
Also need to get turmeric & ginger going, but need to creat a zone for that.
Do you companion these herbs my fly negerosos?

I grow it straight out of lettuce beds, or next to anything that doesn't require vertical growth. It requires very little horizontal space because it grows UP. You just need to make sure it has time to germinate and doesn't get shaded out by ither plants.
I've never grown it. Seems easy enough though.
It goes to seed and plants itself everywhere each year
Good to have during canning season or for cucumber salads or tzatziki
Buy it once or grow from seed and let it go to seed each year

In your experience what is the germination rate and/or time?
Either I'm getting poor seeds or I'm just not germinating properly.

I believe they were.
I keep them all refrigerated nowadays.
If you're getting your seeds at Home Depot or another big box store, germination rate will be terrible since those are typically really old seeds. Just go liberally with the seeds, then thin. Even with a reputable seed vendor, Dill doesn't have really good germination rates. It also doesn't like cold night temps. For sowing, conditions are similar to lettuce because it's a very small and thin seed, and I'm pretty sure it needs some light to germinate. Since the seeds aren't expensive and you only need so much Dill for any given garden (it's a really strong flavor, imo), I wouldn't go overkill with how much you plant. Give any given spot about 6 seeds (or with Home Depot seeds go HAM). You can either sprinkle a thin layer of soil on top, or just scratch into surface, then spray with a water bottle daily so they don't dry out. It will take a week or longer to germinate.
That might be part of your issue with Dill. Fine for lots of seeds, but Dill just doesn't like cold temps when germinating.
