No, I could give two shits either way, but if I call someone a broke *ninja*, I'd be an asshole.
uh huh maybe 15 years ago. I hear non black people say 'Nigga' flat out daily and using the stupid 'Ninja' is supposed to be a sign of respect? Everyone knows what you mean when you use it, they just silently convert it to nigga in their brain so what is the difference really? Same as calling a white person a 'wigger' it's known and accepted that it means white nigger. Why be coy?

I'm glad I have your permission to post on the forum how I'd like and to joke with my personal friends in a manner that you find different. That really means the world to me. I feel so validated. Thanks Mister. Thanks a lot.

I'm mexican and grew up in Detroit my whole life, I have many friends of all colors, ethnic backgrounds whatever you wanna call it, and I specifically remember my black friends having no problem with me saying nigga (maybe cause I'm brown) but as soon as one of out white friends would say nigga they would get on their case about it being out of line. They just wanted reason to feel discriminated against , IMO if I was black it wouldn't bother me if someone said "what's up my nigga" if they weren't black as well but even considering the history of the word, its obvious why black people feel condescended against when anyone else calls them nigga but then why to they in turn call each other niggas on a daily basis?

Ding Ding Ding. It all goes back to the whole belief that only white people's racism is unacceptable.

Because white people aren't allowed to say it without being considered racist asshole..... Or douchebags
I'm saying white people do say it, they're just trying to be slick about it. Might as well just own it outright instead of using a pseudonym

this argument about privilege to use a racial slur is tired and ridiculous. Read any of the thousands of opinion pieces online to get the answer that you seek. Or not, completely up to you. I'm not interested in having a Dr Suess level debate on why Green Eggs and Ham had to be green instead of blue.

but if they own it outright
that can be just outright dangerous to say nigga or ninja ..I've been to house parties where someone said nigga and got starched flat out by a sucker punch just cause "white people can't say nigga" not saying this will always happen but it is a example of saying nigga or ninja if your white getting you in trouble

To be clear, what I'm saying to you is if you're saying ninja instead of nigga (it's the same thing, just a longer mental walk to your meaning), it does nothing to suppress how hearing that word may affect some black people. When you say ninja, for whatever reason, instead of nigga you aren't really sparing the feelings of any black person; you're just masking your true intent to make it acceptable to say in mixed company. It's up to whomever you're communicating with to decide what they are offended by.

To the 'black people say it' meager argument, not all black people say it. If all your black friends say it then say it when you're talking to them. Treat it like a curse word, you're just going to automatically start casual cursing when meeting a stranger? If yes to both questions, cool. You're winning in your socio economic class. I wouldn't meet Neil deGrasse Tyson and call him a nigga just because other black folk call each other nigga. *I said that in my black slave accent imitation*

Heres when we see Sage fight a good wrestler...Who cares if he was privileged, if anything it rebounds me of BJ...These guys didn't find up up,rough and have no,choice but to fight, these guys CHOSE to,fight and I respect that..I wanna see this scrap
I don't look at Sage's upbringing as something he should be defensive about, but I'm interested to see if it helps another fighter find a way into him.

It's amazing to me that being raised by a loving family and having a good life is looked at as a bad thing by some people. Clearly a better life is a home with no dad, and a mom slangin pussy in the hood.

Or just a dad and a mom struggling to support their family. Why does it always go back to the hood? there are plenty of people living in the country living off welfare and WIC working at low income jobs

Well it's all in context. Is it life better to have had a good life? Absolutely. But is it better to be familiar with pain when it comes time to fight another man in a cage for money? I don't know, but I want to know.

Anyway it's clearly not Sage's fault or a flaw in his character that he was born how he was born. But these types of equations of character, challenge, toughness and experience are fun to watch get solved. In sweet, sanctioned violence. Heh.

Why does it always have to go back to being a privileged white boy? And that's ok.

The way I see it is, myself and many of my friends came from being "privileged white boys" while in the Marines. There was also the other side of the coin. People from all backgrounds fought hard, and weren't a bunch of pussys. I just think it's a weak attempt by him trying to build his name off a talented young kid, and he's possibly a racist. But that's ok, it takes all kinds.

Yeah dude, in no way am I saying that privilege precludes strength or character, or that adversity automatically develops it. Character is a weird thing, probably more an individual choice. My point is that when life has been a huge YES, how do you do with a double no takedown? Sage may do brilliantly. He may crack. I want to know.
