he was struggling to make weight for the LHW division, and his main reason for going down from the Heavyweight Division was to avoid a run in with the former champ who was his teammate at the time.

since cain hasnt been fighter for 3 years now, why isnt daniel cormier go back up in weight since he has no real contender in the LHW division now... and also since he will never beat Jon jones anytime soon.

i want to see ngannou maul daniel cormier's ass to see if he really is the top dog that he thinks he is.

Why ? Jones wont be back any time soon.DC wont the strikeforce grand prix and is the lhw champ he could retire right now and have accomplished more than 99% of fighters ever will

When dc retires he will be around a long time in the broadcast booth.he has to be getting near the end of his career as a fighter but he is far from done.id like to see him go before he stays around too long like rashad.he needs to go out while he is on top like georges.dc has always been a class act

he is ready fo defend againsf "anyone"? his next contender screwed up... jimi manuwa wont be able to do anythinh against DC's wrassling.

he is real heavyweight. the time is now for him to fight against stipe or ngannou.

he was ragdollimg the other heavyweights before he went down to avoid a run in clash with velasquez. Since cain hasnt been around, or even if he comes back, he isnt a champion anymore.

He is the LHW champ. If he moved back up to HW i could see that he would (traditionally) run into problems trying to come back down to LHW and defend the belt. Rules on this have changed recently though.

I agree.

He came to the UFC as the SF grand Prix winner. If Jones is out and DC wants to test himself again he should make a run at the HW belt.

I think he can beat Stipe

I don't think DC will fight that much longer. Maybe if he went up to HW there would be some interesting fights and he may thrill us again. But I don't want to see him taking any more brain damage from some of the brutes at HW. I just like DC to much and I want him to have a happy retirement. Let DC run things at LHW a while longer and then retire as a healthy champion. I love me some DC.

Good point. I think he will beat Stipe soundly. He could go for the two belts, it is the thing to do these days.

Any more brain damage? I can only recall Jon Jones ever whooping him. He's won every other fight pretty handily

Some people kept saying that he sounded different after the Jones fight. Like maybe he was still concussed or the early stages of CTE. He is getting older now and more brain damage is probably not a good thing. I just don't want to see a DC slurring his speech in 10 years.

It would be disrespectful if DC moved to Heavyweight. Cain wouldn't feel too good about it, it would almost be like a slap in the face. It's basically DC saying ''well, your never going to to active enough to reach the title''. I gather DC is extremely close with Cain, and supports him through thick and thin, and encouraging Cain to keep pushing through the set backs. DC's support would be quite hypocritical if he was to move up.

Cain last fought at UFC 200, Jul / 09 / 2016, and the fight before that was a Jun / 13 / 2015. Not active at all, but definitely not retired.

As talented as DC is, he probably could do very well as a Heavyweight in the UFC. I honestly think anyone that is under 6 foot, probably shouldn't be at Heavyweight. DC is listed at 5 ft 9 (and a half), that's insane.

And for contenders, you're right, there's not much there that excites me as well.

Actually i think Gustafsson gave him more brain dmg then both fights against Jones did.
I can't really recall that fight much. Maybe it gave me brain damage too? Although your Avatar does hint at some bias

I think at this point DC has to do what's best for him and not worry about Cain. It would be a great way to erase the Jones asterix he has against his name and if Cain does come back they can figure it out from there

I agree with this. Daniel Cormier needs to solidify his legacy due to the Jones situation, with him wearing a belt that was given to him. I am not saying he doesn't deserve the belt, but he his in that unfortunate situation, a HW fight against Stipe would be making things right again.

I'd give him a contender fight first. I'd like to see and werdum

I thought Werdum is going to be in an Australian Jail for a while for deficating on a Boomerang.
Fuck Australia. We designed the whole island to be a prison. They just haven't figured it out yet. Flaming dingos
