On Saturday evening, one of the biggest fights in WMMA history will take place when Cris Cyborg defends her UFC women’s featherweight title against former bantamweight champion Holly Holm. But according to UFC President Dana White, the UFC 219 main event has more on the line than just the 145-pound title, it’s also a fight that with major implications for the legacies of both women.

On Thursday, White went on FS1’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd, to discuss the upcoming title fight, saying that this is the biggest fight in both women’s careers, especially Holm who White says will earn the title of “Greatest Female Fighter of All Time” with a win.

“This is the biggest fight of her career,” White said. “This is the true test for Cris Cyborg. If you look at Holly Holm: 13-time world boxing champion, multiple time kickboxing champion, beat Ronda Rousey and won the UFC title. Now Holm is moving up to 145 pounds and she’s actually a real 145-pounder - she’s tall, she’s big, she’s thick.

“[And] if Holly Holm wins this weekend, how can you argue that she’s not the greatest fighter of all time - female fighter?”

well cyborg can destroy every woman who ever fought and some of the little guys .i dont really think it is fair to even have a GOAT discussion with regards to wmma at this point.there was the old school megumi fuji jmma era and then the gina era.the ufc has only had women fighting for 5 years and it has evolved greatly and will keep evolving.it is too early to pick the greatest ever for mma in general nevermind the womens version

She would have beaten the two best at their prime but she’s lost some fights as well. Tough to claim she’s the greatest. Hell, it’s tough to claim anyone is this early on.

All this to get us to believe in this fake belt, fake division, and fake title fight. The whole thing is a joke. If the only, literally the ONLY contender is a fighter coming off MULTIPLE losses, then you have nothing, a charade. If Holm wins good on her, that's basically it. Will not watch this card.

Is he working on the idea that to be the best you have to beat the best? Not even sure if Cyborg still is the best, she's not the force that she used to be, but at least she has a stellar record. Holm on the other hand is 1-3 in her last 4 fights, and has never won a fight at feather weight. The UFC are hyping this fight like it's between two undefeated champions, when in reality it's between a champion and a journeyman.

I dont think there's any question that Cyborg is the best woman to ever do it at this point. Like they say, there's levels to this shit and she's on one of her own right now. Just a beast.

TaraLaRosa @TaraLaRosa is currently. No one has the caliber of wins in a 15 fight win streak. Cyborg and Megumi have longer streaks, but not filled with the quality wins that Tara has. Joanna is on her way of surpassing Tara's deeds though, assuming she can shake off that loss to Rose and move forward. You'll hear megumi or ronda are the GOATs, but Ronda's streak was stopped at 12 pro wins and Megumi is guilty of having cans thrown in to pad her record.
