From Dave Meltzer's audio:
Looks like it did a lot better then expected
Early numbers from a few distributors have it on track to be about 350k or over

Remember a lot more distributors have to release numbers so it can go up/down, but as of now it is in trending in the 350k range

Cyborg, I mean Elbe, will start tweeting about holding out for Conor money because of being the biggest draw in the company now.

Khabib's return probably had a lot to do with that number. It does make you wonder though, what champs out there right now besides MdGregor can pull a 500k+ PPV? Cyborg, Nunes, Rose, Dillashaw, DJ, and Woodley have proven they can't. I doubt Whittaker can. Doubtful DC can without a dancing partner like Jones. I don't think Miocic or Holloway can either.

Conor is the only 500k fighter they have
Miocic vs Francis has a shot, but its due to the match-up & adding DC

I think Miocic has a chance. If he puts out Ngannou then people have to pay attention. As weird as it is to say it, him doing Rogan's podcast has been the best promotional tool that he could have done for himself. It's probably gotten close to million views on youtube plus a ton of downloads.

If Ngannou wins then I can see him selling some PPVs. A giant dude murdering people with one punch? Take my money.

But generally speaking there just aren't many people that make me want to spend my money and I'm already planning to spend my money.

That's true. The LHW and HW title fights on the same card should pull well over 500k, but I just don't see one fighter on the roster (outside of McGregor) that can pull that by themselves. That's not good for the UFC to be so reliant on McGregor.

McGregor never pulled that by himself to my knowledge.

They are not really reliant on him.
They have moved the business infrastructure to the point that without a single PPV sold, they are a $150m+ profit company yearly

But they certainly do a lot better IF he fights ... IF is the key

These numbers are shit. People are trying to put lipstick on a pig, but aside from the fact is this was a year-end show that normally draws much more, Holm, Cyborg and Khabib are some of the bigger draws in MMA, sadly. Holm has headlined and co-headlined two of the biggest cards in UFC history, and has proven as a big draw on a main Fox card (5th highest in history) yet Cyborg was still rightly thought of as the main attraction.

The fact is, while people can try to spin this as a decent result considering the headliners, those headliners are unfortunately pretty close to as good as the UFC has left. Who could have done a substantially better result than that not named Conor, Jones or GSP?

Are you forgetting gsp is on the roster?

Miocic hasn't cracked 500k before. Then ngannou, if he wins, the world still has no idea who he is, so work will need to be made to make him recognizable. Speaking of recognizable, how many common people even know stipe?

It did

That is not "lipstick on a pig"
It was expected to do in the 200's
Says who?

Holm did 200k vs De Randamie on a weak card. If anyone thought her against Cyborg on a year-end card with Khabib as a co-main would do less than that, they're idiots. This number is about what should've been expected.

If it is at 350k, then it sold the same as:
Jackson v Jardine
Cruz v Faber 2
Franklin v Henderson
Jones v Teixeira

That also means it did better than rousey v mcmann.

I don't think your reading comprehension is worth very much
Who said it was expected to do under 200k?
Since when is "expected to do in the 200's" under 200k?

If you thought it would do 350k, you are in a very VERY small minority.
But congrats for getting it correct

Trust that I am versed on these matters
Or don't trust & e-hi5 yourself for predicting the number in advance (if you did)

Different era
Plus nobody said it was a "big deal" or "huge"

If they are indeed averaging 305k buys, 500k is a reason to whip out their dicks and masturbate in public (for celebration purposes of course).
