This particular Federal Liberal gov't and the Ontario Provincial Liberal gov't are terrible and will set both Ontario and the Country back years and put us so far into debt your children will be dealing with the costs down the road.
Yes that is what I said. No, that isn't what you said.
Of course you also think small business owners are happy making 50k a year, and that businesses shouldn't use government programs when they're offered to them. Of course you also think we believe you live in Canada.
This is the case in Toronto too. Very hard to understand their English under that heavy pinoy accent.
These programs aren't offered to them, they are using a loophole in the program to apply for the program and That's why it had to be amended that they can't unless the locations meet specific labor shortage restrictions.Like a whole McDonald's or a whole Tim Horton's will be staffed by tfw pinoys. Not just one or two but the whole floor is staffed by pinoys. I find their accent really hard to understand and I'm sure they have the same problem with me so it makes ordering something difficult.
and your statements were to "counter" my statement that it wasn't wide spread in Ontario. You also left out where you backed of it being "Toronto" and actually meant "North York"Yes that is what I said.
Well I haven't been to every location in Toronto but everywhere I have It's been almost all tfw of pinoys ancestry.and your statements were to "counter" my statement that it wasn't wide spread in Ontario. You also left out where you backed of it being "Toronto" and actually meant "North York"
You also don't know that every Filipino is a TFW. Do you have any current stats to support any of your claims?Well I haven' been to every location in Toronto but everywhere I have It's been almost all tfw of pinoys ancestry.
Actually, what people say during conversations are relevant details. It's nice to see you picking at irrelavent details because you lost the argument completely.
In this case they are absolutely right to raise minimum wage. This particular Federal Liberal gov't and the Ontario Provincial Liberal gov't are terrible and will set both Ontario and the Country back years and put us so far into debt your children will be dealing with the costs down the road.
You're better than this Vutu.In this case they are absolutely right to raise minimum wage.
I see that you have completely abandoned your argument that tfw are great for franchise restaurants as is keeping minimum wage down to 11.60 for arguing about whether every single Toronto Tim Horton's is full of Filipinos. From arguing a terrible point to Full shit posting. You also don't know that every Filipino is a TFW. Do you have any current stats to support any of your claims?

Revert to name calling and may be people won't notice you have no point. You're better than this Vutu.
I never said either of those things. Swing and a miss.I see that you have completely abandoned your argument that tfw are great for franchise restaurants as is keeping minimum wage down to 11.60
That was your argument, not mine.for arguing about whether every single Toronto Tim Horton's is full of Filipinos.
What stats?Got any stats at all, or you just shit posting as usual?
Well, your major city TFW exploitation argument kind of falls apart in the face of low unemployment rates in Toronto and Ottawa. So I'm wondering where you get this idea from and if you have any proof to support it.What stats?
We're not specifically talking about how many tfw are working in toronto Tim hortons. You're using a anecdotal comment said in passing and completely ignoring the topic of the thread because your position on that has already been disproved. Why not just let things be like a man instead of coming back with shit posts that aren't very important to reprieve your ego? We're talking about minimum wage increases and a major low cost restaurants chain's method of dealing with rising wages.Well, your major city TFW exploitation argument kind of falls apart in the face of low unemployment rates in Toronto and Ottawa. So not only do you have nothing to support your TFW strawman, but you also haven't read the thread? I have never wanted to tell anyone to take a hike more than you.So not only do you have nothing to support your TFW strawman, but you also haven't read the thread? Very nice work.
I did. I also read the article that preceded it the day before. I also read the articles all summer where small business owners begged the premiere not to raise wages by a substantial amount overnight. I also read the articles where the premiere said they would find ways to deal with it. I've also read articles where small non-franchise businesses are also cutting benefits, hours, and wages to compensate for the wage increases they can't afford. It turns out when they found ways to deal with it that weren't just throwing money at their employees it's because they're actually "bullies".Go read the article.
Ok It's a perfectly fine argument to say I'm fine with cutting benefits. I'm not even arguing with that. I'm more or less telling why I'm fine with raising minimum wage and It's ever so perfectly fitting to use Tim Horton's as an example.I did. I also read the article that preceded it the day before. Why you be fine with people going to college, getting degrees and then having the gains that they worked so hard for pulled out from under them?I'm not even arguing with that. her Dad loved her, and together they watched "Over The Top" many times.
Not sure what you mean? Who is having gains pulled ? If you mean the parent company of Tim Horton's then those gains aren't justified anyway because it completely depended on tfw keeping the minimum wage low.Why you be fine with people going to college, getting degrees and then having the gains that they worked so hard for pulled out from under them?
In a broad sense, the 90% of Ontarians who work full time and made more than minimum wage just took a defacto pay cut by being pushed 3 dollars closer to minimum wage. More specifically people who previously had specialized training in a specific field but only made a few dollars more than minimum wage are no making minimum wage because there's no obligation for employers to raise wages across the board. People who work jobs like receptionists and apprentice tradespeople just became minimum wage earners like a 16 year old applying for his first job at McDonald's.Not sure what you mean? Who is having gains pulled ?
TFW is not relevant, stop pretending it is.If you mean the parent company of Tim Horton's then those gains aren't justified anyway because it completely depended on tfw keeping the minimum wage low.
It is absolutely relevant. The whole purpose of the tfw program was to keep the minimum wage low. Without tfw they would have had to increase minimum wage long ago because enough Canadians do not want to do these jobs for 11.60 h. On the contrary if you have millions of filipinos willing to do that work for less than 11.60 h then you never have to increase the minimum wage because the jobs are always being filled by tfw.In a broad sense, the 90% of Ontarians who work full time and made more than minimum wage just took a defacto pay cut by being pushed 3 dollars closer to minimum wage.
