Many TFW positions allow foreigners to do jobs with fewer qualifications than a Canadian citizen would be expected to have. They're also by definition temporary positions, so it's disingenuous to suggest that our economy could support those temporary workers being permanent workers.
They are usually temporary positions in that the contract just has to be resigned and isnt open-ended.
Fewer qualifications than Canadians? How much qualifications does it take to pour a coffee at Tim Hortons or clean your hotel room?
The TFW program requires employers to prove they took all available avenues to hire a Canadian citizen for the position before they can farm it out to a TFW.
I would think our economy could support these TFW for the long term considering our govt is advertising we have 300,000 unfilled jobs available in Canada.
