I said for the TFW program, Canadian employers need to prove they attempted to hire Canadian before they can apply to bring in a TFW. Seems logical to me. But also the TFW program is not immigration into Canada. We allow immigrants into Canada without a job lined up.. Again, different program than the TFW.

To be a PSW or a child care giver? Generally these require post secondary education and being recognized by a regulatory body. When TFW's fill these positions it's through use of a loophole in the ill designed system.
We have a 6% unemployment rate. If we assume that half of our population is of working age (it's likely much higher) that's over a million unemployed citizens at any given time. Rather than encouraging (and funding) labor mobility we've decided it's a better idea to farm out our available work to foreigners and leave our own citizens on government assistance.

I wasn't going to wade through the entire back and forth, but from what I saw he said that he agreed with Canada's immigration policies. By extension, his opinions of our Syrian refugees isn't relevant.
I never mentioned refugees or the TFW . I even gave him an informative rating when he corrected me on my confusion about TFW. I’ve only tried to get him to answer if he believes illegal immigrants should be deported and he’s dodged the question 4 times over the last 2 days.
For what it's worth the concept of "We should employ Canadians before bringing in immigrants." is accepted as a conservative (or worse) opinion on this side of the border too.
That makes sense whether right or wrong . That’s why it surprised me to see his opinions and how they align with the conservative opinions about immigration in the US. While spending so much time bashing conservative America and trump over what seem to be his similar beliefs.
Seems to just be a symptom of the times. It seems like people are either all in on Trump, or all out. There's nothing resembling a happy medium anywhere.
