if they combined the big fights and had less cards:

ufc220/fox27/fn125:

Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou
Daniel Cormier vs. Volkan Oezdemir
Ronaldo Souza vs. Derek Brunson
Lyoto Machida vs. Eryk Anders
Valentina Shevchenko vs. Priscila Cachoeira

ufc221/FN126:

Yoel Romero vs. Luke Rockhold
Mark Hunt vs. Curtis Blaydes
Tai Tuivasa vs. Cyril Asker
Derrick Lewis vs. Marcin Tybura
Cowboy Cerrone vs. Yancy Medeiros
Sage Northcutt vs. Thibault Gouti

ufc222/fox28

Max Holloway vs Frankie Edgar (scrapped)
Stefan Struve vs. Andrei Arlovski
C.B.Dollaway vs. Hector Lombard
Josh Emmett vs. Jeremy Stephens
Jéssica Andrade vs. Tecia Torres
Ovince Saint Preux vs. Ilir Latifi

ufc223/fn127/fox29

Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov
Rose Namajunas vs. Joanna J?drzejczyk
Fabrício Werdum vs. Alexander Volkov
Dustin Poirier vs. Justin Gaethje
Carlos Condit vs. Matt Brown
Michael Chiesa vs. Anthony Pettis

they could do 1 card a month like this. 1 on ppv one month, 1 on main fox the other. 6 big fox/6 ppv's! (or 8 ppv & 4 big fox cards)

where is all the fighters on those cards not listed? obviously all these cards have prelims as well, but trim just a little fat off the roster.

then you have a couple FN cards each month on fs1/fight pass with all these unknown up n comers and also bring in local mma champs from other small orgs and that'll help bring in the crowds for these shows as well. these guys will be lookin to work there way onto the big 12 cards. you can even do legend fights like Penn/Pulver 3 to help sell these cards and get tv viewers.

what do you guys think? would you rather stacked cards like this once per month or spread em out like they are now with 1-2 big fights per card? you still get lots of cards, but big fights are saved for the big 12! then when injurie/usada srikes, you still have cards that are really good.

One simple request..

Stack the PPV's customers are paying for and I'll gladly come back and buy their product.

Makes no sense to increase the price of a PPv without giving the paying customer quality content.

Why are PPVs the mother load? I would think there would be more exposure on regular tv. I guess that is how they make money... but other sports make money without PPVs.. I guess UFC doesn't have that leverage? I mean, TUF is what got the party started for the most part. Other countries don't buy the PPV.... I dunno... seems like there must be a better way to make money...then no one has to worry about stacking anything...just put on a damn card.

It's just impossible to have consistent high quality cards when you have one every weekend for 7 weeks in a row. It waters down the fighter pool and if you lose a big headliner, there's no room for maneuvering.

And besides the watering down of the quality of the cards, it's hard to build much anticipation when you're always just jumping from one event o the next. I feel like I don't even know who's fighting each Saturday until 2 or 3 days before the event. There's no time for any real build-up.

At this point I'd be happy with two cards a month. Maybe 8 PPVs a year and then 16 FOX/FS1 cards per year.

The UFC doesn't seem to realize that absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Keep the same IMO. I wanna watch fights every weekend and I like having the ufc in the background as security. They don't wanna build stars, they want you to watch because it's the ufc. For me it's become a soap opera and I don't care. Even your stacked cards aren't that great so why bother...mma fighters don't fight often enough to guarantee anything.

I like stacked cards once a month or super stacked card every once in awhile. It is a prized fighting so I want to keep that system of get paid based on how many wants to watch you fight.

And the rest who can't make it onto those cards, just have some computerized system where all fighters are auto-matched based on their recent win/ loss/ rank/ active/ injuries/ etc... and have those fights on shitty cards for free. If fighter has to drop for any reason, computer will already calculate and notify potential replacements, and make all the changes necessary. And all those fighters are monitored constantly with weights and all.

There's gotta be some threshold to make it onto the PPV, like reach the top 10, win streak, performance bonuses and such.

I like the idea of more upper-tier fighters handled by humans, offers and physically sign contracts based on draw and other factors and the lower-tier fighters be dealt in more of an auto-system.

Kind of like Rolls-Royce and other mass-produced cars.

Stacked cards, every month sounds great. Especially with the free TV ones, could market the main event as someone who could break into the Top 15/10 in their next fightmake it relevant somehow. Then get invested in that fighter, pay to see them succeed/fail on the lower prelims of PPV.

The amount of cards period are draining. Doesn’t help that I can’t bring myself to care about most the fights. Maybe if the UFC did something like on here with the Monster Pick Em, get some interest with some prizes or something, that’d help. People are willing to research lower names with some sort of material award.

and all i did was take the best fights they have lined up on 2-3 cards and put em on 1, and if they are not that great like that, thikabout how crappy they are now and why interest at all time low.

Stack them, clearly.

When cards are complete trash like the Machida one that just happened, I just skip them. But I'm still enough of a dipshit that I will watch shit cards when there are a couple of half-decent matches interspersed throughout an overall shitfest. And I often regret it.

MMA is way better when there are gaps between stacked cards.

My point is even if they wanted to stack every card they'd might not be able to do it (depending on what you'd consider "stacked).

I know I'm in the minority but I do suspect though that a fair share of the people who complain about the current model would then complain about something else if they'd change it.

i hear ya. but they've been doing one way for awhile now, so lets try em stacked like i have me and see how it goes. they gotta try. it might put interest into people getting together or ordering an event or even caring about the fights. lordofthepies said it perfectly above.

It'd be so much better if they did less shows with more meaningful matchups

persoanlly id be trying to make more stacked 1 weight class cards. might take a bit to get all top guys lined for same events. in event of an injury, say a lhw fighter cant fight on his lhw card, have em main event a FN card with up n comers if they dont want to wait for next lhw card. cards like this can build a division and bring clarity to a divisioni n one night. kinda like elimination tourney in a way. then people easily get to know who's who in a division. cards with all wirht classes has to be cofusing to casuals if hardcorescant keep up and dont know half or more fighters on a card. man id be pumped for cards like these:

stipe vs werdum 2
reem vs cain
ngannou vs lewis
hunt vs blaydes
arlovski vs struve
voklov vs tybura

rockhold vs romero
weidman vs jacare
gastelum vs brunson
bisping vs machida
belfort vs hall
branch vs tavares

conor vs nate 3
khabib vs fergy
alvarez vs barboza
porier vs gaethje
lee vs laquinta
cheisa vs pettis

I would much MUCH rather have less cards that are stacked to the point I won’t question for a second whether it’s worth paying for.

exactly. cards worth getting excited about knowing 5 fights are meanigful in rankings and worth pondering/anticipating. im all forMORE mma! but my plan has that too. a couple FN cards as well. just save the big fights for ppv/fox.

I liked your post but I don't like this idea at all. Cards like this would always be one pullout away from disaster and this system would trigger several stupid rematches. Also the LHW and HW cards could be worse than the current bad cards.

Just give me my watered down cards every weekend and I'm happy.

Stacked PPV Cards: big names, championships, and fights of significant consequence.

Fox Cards: mid-high (not elite) level fighters who put on exciting fights with high potential for finishes or wars in order to bring in the casual or non-fans

Fox Sports 1 Cards: Simial to the Fox Cards, but lesser known prospects to start introducing them and build their brands.

Fight Pass Cards: Newcomers and TUF graduates who still need to prove themselves before getting multi-fight deals.
