He needs to get his shit together if he plans on continue fighting. Thinking he may have been enhanced prior to USADA, so maybe a different org would help him get back to winning.
Hendricks said the move to Jackson/Wink has helped him, he's training and walking around at about 209 right now. Luke asked him when he hoped to fight again and he said May sounds about right to him. 185 was the weight class but said he isn't ruling out a return to 170

Oh well, if Hendricks says it then it must be in no way delusional.

this might be the perfect time for Johny to add that second 'n' to his name. Constantly having to correct people has to be taxing and a distraction from his training.

I think Johnny was on the juice and I don't care for him personally. However, I do hope he continues a competitive career in some aspect. I wonder if Askren would come back for a fight with Johnny in Bellator.

Man his rise to the the top was so much fun. Dude beat Fitch, Koscheck, Kampman, and Condit all in their primes, in a row, and lost a VERY controversial decision to GSP, before beating Robbie for the title. Then loses to Robbie, beats Brown, loses three in a row to Wonderboy, Kelvin, and Magny, beats Lombard, then looked like crap against Boetsch and Costa. Meteoric rise, an up and down period, and a steep drop off. No accusations here, but sounds like a USADA era case study.

I've met him a couple of times at UFC expos. Seems like a decent dude and was always friendly. That was when times were going better for him though. Let's just say that hypothetically a member of this site was was reviewing a contract offered to him to launch a podcast in the near future. Would he be an interview that you might be interested in hearing?

He was so much fun during his ascent. I still vividly remember his in-cage interview after knocking out Kampman - "That combinations came to me in a dream!". Man he was fun, and as someone who grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, it was awesome having someone with his accomplishments basically fighting out of my hometown.

And then he basically became a walking joke. I hope that he can gain back some of that early fire with a change of scenery.

I try as often as possible to hold in negative opinions (and feel guilty when I catch myself being an ass). But I think there's value in this next statement (esp bc it counters my own)

His tone and delivery in interviews tends to annoy me. So I stopped watching stuff he's in.

But with that said, some people I know (who are better people than myself)have actually met him and they spoke well of him.

So I was probably wrong. Maybe he's a cool dude.

maybe a new stage will bring forth a differect side of him!? So I'm excited for this :)
i don't try so hard to hold in negative points johny never seemed like a guy you could listen to for long without taking issue with him over something. i didn't say anything unkind at first but when he blamed the fans for him not getting another title shot, the green light went up.

1) bagged salad. in a steak house. in texas. the most competitive steak house market on earth.
2) going up a division simply because he didn't want to diet. small earning window and he jeopardised it by eating fucking ice cream with his kids
3) he had a deal with his management. they paid him to train in return for a %. backed out when he started earning big
4) he was once asked if he had any sidelines. he said something about wanting to do a tv show about fishing or hunting. it amused me to note that he thought he could think of any random hobby of his, apply his star power and sparkling personality, and make tv people would want to watch lol

so in summary, he is the only fighter i bash, i do think he's a muppet but wish him well and advise him to take steroids

FoSho. I may sometimes give off the wrong impression of taking this forum chat stuff to serious, I actually am ridiculously laid back in real life, I think I am just kind of intense and it comes off the wrong way on the interwebs. So part of that is on me also. Much Props Good Sir We are solid.
Did you see where he called your mom a ho in that one thread?

Matt Brown said he thought Johnny was on something, Matt said he was the last to fight Johnny prior to the arrival of USADA.

Hendricks lost his power and super strength post USADA. He is a shell of his former self.

If he does go to Bellator where he doesn’t have to worry about USADA he can get back on the “supplements” that helped him earlier in his career. However, he is still 34 and been through some wars. He may do better than 2-6 in his next fights, but a championship run in any organization seems very unlikely to me.

His wife was a really nice lady when I met them (him only very briefly) at UFC 101. I've always wanted to see him succeed just because of how cool she was. Same for Jesse Lennox's entire family. Also, Kurt Pellegrino's wife is truly down for her man. I thought she was going to beat the hell out of Josh Neer's brother.

What I'm getting at is that I think that years of weight cutting, years of letting himself getting insanely out of competition shape, lots of fights and competition, USADA not only restricting steroids but also being way more strict with average supplements and banning IVs have all combined into Johny being proper fucked. But I do wish him and his family well because of how cool they were before he was really anyone.
