Yeah, that too hahI think he's just a shitty public speaker
I like what the CSAC is doing in weighing fighters regularly starting X number of days before the scheduled fight. They did it for Jones-DC 2. Something like 21 days before the fight, they each had to be at 220 lbs.Yeah, that too hah
He wasn't as bad as we've seen others - but you can tell that he has to work hard to get to 185. He might not have been on deaths door, but he wasn't doing awesome either. He's a pro though and got it done. This isn't his first rodeo.
Big weight cuts have always been an issue, and my opinion has gone back and forth about it. With the topic in the news/forums a lot more nowadays, and the extensive coverage (all the pre fight stuff) UFC does now, i think folks are just paying more attention as of late.
I'm in favor of having folks compete in the appropriate weight classes, it's just healthier and safer. They need to find the right incentives though in order to get fighters go along. It's seems like the early weigh in thing has had mixed results. If that works for some, great. But they need to have more implemented than that.

This at least avoids the extreme weight cutting that some guys do. Hopefully the policy becomes widespread (most importantly, hopefully the NSAC adopts the same or a similar policy) and not isolated to California so that we don't have fighters just avoiding the Cali cards.
Oh holy fuck he nailed it. I'm fucking dying here

He did it just to give the fans and media comedy for...pretty much the rest of luke's life, every time he opens his mouth. Yoel heard luke say he is moving to LHW VERY soin, so he wanted to show him what only 2.7lbs bigger will do to him. Imagine luke agajnst a fighter 15lbs bigger. Yoel may have just saved Luke's life.Damn, I didn't even realize Romero missed weight. WTF. Obviously he was fed a twinkie via IV drip in the night by some ninjas.
I seem to remember Luke talking about a Jon Jones fight back when Jon was only 1 or 2 scandals deep. I thought it was a bad idea, not just because it was Jones but the weight class in general seems too big for Luke. He's got a narrow frame and not much power. He could win against the right guys, but things get harder at 205. He's kind of a tweener though, sort of like Cerrone. On the bigger side of one weight class, but smallish for the next one up.He did it just to give the fans and media comedy for...pretty much the rest of luke's life, every time he opens his mouth. His skills and size match up well against many 205lb fighters. He is not easy work for anyone. 185 is where he shines though.I seem to remember Luke talking about a Jon Jones fight back when Jon was only 1 or 2 scandals deep. Yeah, he wouldn't get run over, but he's at 185 for a reason. We'll probably never find out at any rate. His skills and size match up well against many 205lb fighters. He is not easy work for anyone. 185 is where he shines though.
Hearing rumors that the Sauna where they had him staying was number 1 bullshitDamn, I didn't even realize Romero missed weight. WTF. Obviously he was fed a twinkie via IV drip in the night by some ninjas.
