USADA not withstanding... Did TJ beat him into being average? He looked lost and half the man he used to be.

He wasnt even promoted ahead of this weekend. Somebody insert the clip of Dana calling him the P4P.
TJ took his soul. The man simply was never the same after fighting the snake

To be fair, Ludwig isn't really taking on too many new guys, he did what he could with the TAM guys and they improved vastly, but outside of TJ he doesn't put time into anyone else.
He is also on record saying he doesn't really wanna be an MMA coach.
he wants to focus on martial arts and really doesn't like the whole prize
fighting game .

Then again the man hustled peanut butter behind the TAM gym counter so how
can anyone trust his word. Lol

Barao became a shadow of himself before USADA. TRT ban came into effect early '14 just before the Dillashaw fight. Barao went from being a P4P guy on a 33 fight winning streak to being 2-5 in his last 7.
Damn I didn't know he was 2-5 in his last 7. That's unreal.

Yeah and the 2 wins are not exactly against world beaters either. His last win against Nover was a guy who already been cut from the UFC and to be honest only his retirement announcement spared him the indignity of a 2nd cut.

From watching the fight this past weekend I am not surprised. He looked middle ranking at best and the finish was a carbon copy of what feels like 3 or 4 times now. Out on his feet just swinging back with his mouth open body flailing. Not a great look.

Kudos to the guy who beat him... maybe we are just underselling that guy. He did fight really well. But. In classic fashion. I cant remember his damn name. He looked great.

DId they really "improve vastly"? Not claiming either way but I don't recall ever seeing anything special.

And do you know all of that for sure? in the video I posted in the recent thread about TJ it looks like there are a bunch of low/mid level fighters at his gym (or they're so full of themselves they feel like they can give pointers to a profesional kickboxer?)
From what I know he took a mostly Wrestling based team and made them better strikers.

TJ became a champion under him(TAM's first champion), Mendes fought his way back to a second title shot and JoeB did the same. If my time is correct here, Ludwig was with them for most of this, if not all of it.

I remember watching a video about Ludwig saying he doesn't work that much, around 3 hours a day and doesn't really have any interest in taking new fighters under his wing to groom them into champions the way he did with TJ. Actually, I remember now, it was his time on JRE.
