I'm so torn and confused
I'm pulling for Ortega. Like Frankie but want to see some new blood in the UFC.
Ortega is quickly becoming one of my favourite fighters. Seems like a genuinely good guy. I’ll be happy if either he or Frankie win tomorrow night both good dudes and great fighters. Should be a great fight too. I’m hoping Edgar tests the ground a bit, so we can see some insane scrambles, but I think Frankie picks him apart from distance with movement and speed and avoids going to the mat.
Even though I have made threads in multiple mma forums about the hypocrisy of the hate for Cyborg and love for Ortega despite BOTH failing for PED's, I admit, he definitely has a lot more charisma to him than Cyborg does.
I feel both Ortega and Cyborg are good people outside of the cage and help others, but feel Cyborg is about helping others more.
I guess that's why it's always bothered me why Cris Cyborg gets so much hate. Anyways, I just hope it's not a "D-raw" and the winner wins by finish. I feel Edgar will take this but I just want clarity in my fights I watch.
I think part of the reason is that she allows Ray Elbe to represent her in inappropriate ways. And it is her fault in the end; it would be shocking if she didn't know at this point what he was doing. However, people get into dysfunctional relationships all the time, so who knows what is said between them? In any case, even if she wants him to do the dirty work while she helps kids, that she is having someone do dirty work at all is a choice, right? Idk. It's tough. I feel like there is some insight into that dynamic I just don't have.
Can you be more specific? I have no idea what you're talking about regarding Ray Elbe being bad for her.
My understanding is that he is the one who runs her twitter account, and he says some really obnoxious/thoughtless things sometimes that don't really jive with the stories you hear about Cyborg as a person.
Other times there have been some genuine statements made that sound more like she's telling him what to say. But we don't really know, I guess.
E.g. for a recent example, I did not get the impression that Cyborg had some beef with Megan Anderson when they faced off, but then "she" said some nasty stuff recently, and Megan called him straight out for it - and no one said, hey, it's not Ray, it's Cris.

Also, "she" tweeted some complaint about usada testing and that she hoped Holly Holm (who had been tested more at that point, I think, and had never failed) was being tested as much as she was. Not really the thing to say if you want people to stop thinking about your failed tests.

I read @D-raws post and this was the first thing that came to mind. That and Ortega doesn’t look like a hulking roid monster.
Get Ray to run Ortega’s social media for six months and I’m willing to bet that changes.
Well, I think it may not be so bad if she ever fought anyone the same size, but she is always the bigger woman. If she weren't friends with Gabi and said she was going to challenge her in an open weight bout or something, I think people would see her more favorably.
