UFC lightweight bonus-collector Marco Polo Reyes has been flagged by the UFC’s anti-doping partner for a failed out-of-competition drug test collected on March 8.

The UFC announced the news in a statement Thursday.

The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Marco Reyes of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on March 8, 2018.

USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case involving Reyes. Under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full and fair legal process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.

When did he say he believes that is the correct thing to do

Just because they may currently do that, does not mean it is the correct course of action

This is absolutely true. The correct procedure is if a failed A sample is found then the fighter and management are informed. They can request the testing of a B sample. If they refuse it can be announced or if they do then it is not public until that test comes back positive. In the case of a B sample negative it should also not be announced.

The fighter can choose to say whatever he or she wants but that is their choice.

absolutely. in general, the public is drawn way more to stories about "drama". be it violations, arrests, divorce whatever. imo someone is way more likely to share this story than the story that he was actually clean. so the TRUTH will reach a much smaller audience.

How often is a guy exonerated? 2% of the time? If even? Cung Lee? Who else? Personally I think the tainted supplements thing for a reduced suspension is bullshit. All you gotta do is find a tainted batch and then go ham on whatever it was tainted with until you are caught and cry foul. Takes a leap of faith to believe the tainted supplement story, you just have to take their word for it.
