Great fucking movie.
Very very underrated.
Got bashed because of its supposedly anti-Chinese/racist content. (Yes pc culture was present in the 80s media).

But...
Great script by Oliver stone no less.
Great cast (lone and rourke steal plenty of scenes)
Great directing by Michael cimino.

Infernal Affairs never gets talked about. Absolutely love that movie, if it wasnt like fourty quid on blueray I would buy it.

Scorsese won an oscar for a movie he ripped off.

The HK cinema version was better. Mostly because it was original.

I watched the departed all excited because it was so highly aclaimed... then after 3 minutes I was like, the fuck? I seen this before! Googled if it was a rip off... yep!

Kevin Smith’s Tusk. Dark comedy movie. Its about Justin Long meeting an old man who wants to rekindle his friendship with an old friend...by turning Justin Long a human walrus.

Grown up kid from Sixth Sense and Johny Depp are also there.

Great movie and a bit of useless gun/movie trivia, I believe it was the first movie to ever feature a Desert Eagle handgun.

Observe and Report. Super underrated gem, one of the best comedies I've ever seen. I saw it in theatre and there was only like 4 or people, and I cried laughing. I think this is the lowest earning Seth Rogan movie but god damn is it good. Super dark. Made by Jody Hill, so if you liked Eastbound and Down you'll probably love this.

I still don't know what to think of that. I'm an eternal Kevin Smith whore but I still don't know what I watched. I THINK I liked it, but I was pretty baffled.

Red State didn't get enough good press I don't think. I know how religious the US is but it was basically about The Westboro Baptist Church considering his run ins with them. We're all supposed to hate them, right?

I 100% agree with the mix opinion on Tusk. Its a good movie, the premise is just completely insane. Acting is top notch, cinematography is great, the pacing is well done (The Depp flashback is sorta long, but meh). I believe if a film proffessor gave the assignment “Make a movie about a human walrus.” This would be the movie.

I enjoyed Red State. I’m not too keen on religious controversies here, because I personally don’t care to go to church and barely read news. It touches on a very extreme perception of homosexuals by most hardcore churches, so can see why it didn’t recieve good press.

Need to do a Kevin Smith marathon. Think his new movie, Moose Jaws, is out. Which is just Jaws if it was a moose.

I'm probably terribly wrong but wasn't it someone at Comic Con or on twitter or something like that who gave him the idea for Tusk?

I'm in the credits in Clerks 2. Not because I was in it, I was just a Kevin Smith myspace whore.

I actually went to his Q&As two days in a row.

There ya go. Good 26 minute listen. Podcast or something he was doing. Almost lay out the whole movie on the spot.

Well done on being at the right place, at the right time for Clerks 2 credit.

The Time Machine (2002)

Not half bad.
I think James Horner stole the soundtrack for Avatar from it.

Obviously subjective but recommend something good a guy probably hasn't seen.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople

NZ film about a manhunt for a boy and his caretaker. Funny as fuck.
it is weird that deadpool 2 had a similar theme and it had julian dennison too.

I just watched deadpool on the plane last night and thought the same thing.

I think Ryan Reynolds requested Julian to be in the film after watching HFTWP
