Tear gas and pepper spray are technically war crimes as they are chemical warfare. You are constantly committing atrocities against your own people.
Let's not forget cluster bombs. Classed as inhumane by them faggits in Switzerland and taken out of service by all but the yanks

But you are right. Dropping canisters of tear gas on your enemy during a time of war would violate international treaties and be viewed upon as a war crime.
