I was born in NY and lived in NC most of my life. I listen to a lot of artists, but I've always gravitated towards east coast rap the most.
LOL, we invented rap. West Coast heyday was about 25 years ago.
The most talented rappers of all time come from NYC and Southern California.
But I am soooooo glad to see my dirty 3rd coast getting love in here. You can't deny the serious effect it had out of nowhere.
Houston, Memphis, PAT all churned outsome SERIOUS music for a decade that I remember so many going "wtf, where did that come from??". It's still what fills my phone.

Pac repped the west but was born East Coast...and its no secret, Pac isone of my favorite human beings ever...I love rappers from every area...East Coast has a long illustrious list of Lyricists...NAS,Big L,BIG and Wu-Tang and My favorite AZ not Gay Z...AZ is partially responsible of helping NAS get his career started...
Keep going... Mike Jones, Chamillionare, ...just listen to everything linked to Swisha House (who I was hanging out with at a broke ass old holiday inn in 1999 lol).

Yeah I'm not going to lie, I will always love west coast rap until I die but the last couple years the screwston, bottom of the map rap has really grown on me. SPM too even though he's contriversial
