The ale scene here is immense. Keep an open mind and try some.
If you're in somewhere respectable best bet is to ask the bar keep. They tend to have good knowledge.

What is your favorite local brew? As hard as I know that can be to pin down.
Oxford UK. Oxford gold from brakespear or Wiltshire gold from another brewer.
But my tastes are so all over the place. I'll try something new from the bar just because I can.

One of my best buddies growing up went through a bad alcoholic stage... He used to drink warm Wild Cat 8 packs. Thing was, the beer store across the street from his place was a cold beer and wine store.. So he would pay for the cold beer then take it home and put it on his heat register to warm it up to chugging temp.

That isn't that bad. There are some horrid beers in the world, and tgat is not one of them. I'm not saying its good beer by any means, but in the world of bad beers, it's not close to being at the top of tge list.

Yep. I can confirm that it it was indeed awful.This one doesn't exist anymore (the brand was General Generic Beer), and it allegedly tasted like cat piss.

I drink Michelob Ultra exclusively if I’m drinking beer. I have some friends who do the hipster IPA thing, but it usually tastes like shit. The argument is that it gives you a better buzz/drunk. If I want a hard buzz or to be drunk, then I drink bourbon. If I want a mellow buzz for day drinking, my years of various beers tells me Michelob is the way to go.
