For the first time in a long time, Nate Diazappears close to returning to the UFC.

According to multiple sources, the promotion has recently presented Diaz with multiple top-5 lightweight opponents for a fight this summer, and Diaz has expressed interest in returning at UFC 227 on Aug. 4 in Los Angeles.

Diaz, according to sources, wants to be on the card and is interested in at least one name presented to him, though, sources would not confirm who that is at this time.

One thing is clear, though: Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregorhaven’t been discussed as potential opponents, which leaves Eddie Alvarez, Dustin Poirier and Kevin Lee as options. Second-ranked Tony Ferguson is currently rehabbing his surgically-repaired knee and would not be ready to fight in August.

Alvarez and Diaz have a history dating back to when Alvarez beat Diaz’s friend and training partner Gilbert Melendez in Mexico City.

Wow their apparently considering Woodley for the title. This is ridiculous not even taking into account they have an interim title on the line in June.

It's ridiculous because Woodley would hold on for dear life and it would be a boring shit fest.

It’s a Hail Mary attempt for the UFC to get Diaz the Belt. Then Conor can duck Khabib and make his run at 3rd belt.

They better hope Nate can pull that off, because Woodley will try and hump him on the mat in a fight the fans in attendance would boo

He'd easily dump Nate on his head and play hold the turtle down
while smashing his face with elbows... Once or Twice a round and only
when it was absolutely safe to drop them and there was absolutely no
chance of losing position.

T Wood got too much lower body strength and junk in da trunk for Nate

My guess is Eddie. I don’t think he’s going up to fight Woodley. He knows he would get dry humped for 25 minutes. I think him and Lee are friends and Dustin is coming off a loss. Nate is gonna be selective about his opponents and they ranking. Eddie is the only one who makes sense.

It would be a two year hiatus he's coming out of.

He probably wants $20 million plus $5 for every PPV sold...

I'd like to see him fight Nick. Lawler will definitely do though, I really like that fight.

Would like to see him at lightweight against any of the guys ranked 9-15 right now - Al, Felder, Chiesa, Pettis. At welter I think he should get someone else who moved up like Masvidal.

If he really wants a title shot, ok sure. But if it's not important to him, it's not important to me for him. If that makes sense.

The brothers were at a metal festival I went to last year and I really hoped that I would run into them so I could hopefully change my perception of them. They’d probably be cool in an environment like that, they really rub me up the wrong way in this environment though.

Robbie, Poirier, or Alvarez would be great
or they could just do McGregor III for the goof of it

I bet they could pay him that and still turn a profit...

but I digress. He's not asking for that much.
He must be running low on either money or hope that a third Conor fight is gonna happen soon bc before he was only accepting fights that he got PPV points for (which is why he's been out so long).
