At lightweight.

Speaking on the UFC Unfiltered podcast earlier today, White confirmed that the UFC are targeting a lightweight bout between St-Pierre and Diaz. He also confirmed the rumours surrounding a potential fight between Luke Rockhold and Alexander Gustafsson which will take place at 205-pounds.

“It is true and they would fight at 155-pounds,” White said regarding St-Pierre vs Diaz.

“There are rumours, what did I see? That we were doing Gustafsson and Rockhold, that is true, but that’s not for the interim title, that’s false. It might be LA, I’m targeting LA.”

The UFC 227 card is set to be headlined by a UFC bantamweight title fight pitting champion TJ Dillashaw in a rematch with the man who he defeated for the belt last Nov. Cody Garbrandt. Though a lot of the fights are still yet to be signed, White revealed that the UFC are planning a massive fight card that would see St-Pierre vs Diaz occupy the co-main event slot.

“In my perfect world, if everything goes perfect, and nothing ever goes perfect in this world, [it will be] Dillashaw vs Garbrandt, GSP vs Diaz would be the co-main, Gustafsson vs Rockhold and Brunson vs Antonio Carlos Jr.

“It’s very interesting.”

Damn I was hoping that Gus-Rockhold would be for the interim title.

Not because it should be (it shouldn't), but just bc it would be funny.

GSP at 155?

man his poor body...he gonna look skinny

If he wins it sets up Conor GSP though, not that I think Conor wants to fight anytime soon.

GSP in a co-main at 155? Ok...
He said in a perfect world, we can take that quote and can only assume his perfect world includes GSP in co mains. To each their own.

In my perfect world its Jon Fitch in co mains, in case you were wondering.

GSP was considered a big WW in his day. Probably not the case now, but 155 still seems like a stretch for him.

With that weight cut, GSP is better off as the co-main for 3 rounds instead of 5. Sad.

It would be amazing to see GSP become the first 3-weight champion. That would surely cement his legacy as #1 GOAT.

If you stalk er ...follow GSP on social media, you'll see he has already lost a ton of weight. He looks like he weighs 160 right now.

My god!!!!! When even make that fight!? Its just a damn shame! I cant imagine it being competitive in any universe unless its the one where smoking weed is the equivalent to shooting roids and testosterone!!! Only way Diaz wins this fight is if he somehow manages to spike St Pierre's water with cbd oil and slips him a pot brownie before the fight. Jesus christ what a joke!

If you look only at this picture, you'd think these two guys fight in the same weight class:

I definitely think GSP can make 155 comfortably. If he is going to go for it, GSP will take the weight off the right way over time and not try to cut a significant amount.
This fight may happen, but not for a long time.
