Even after a first-round knockout loss to Rose Namajunas at UFC 217, former strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk was granted an immediate title shot which took place at UFC 223. Once again, she failed to recapture the title she previously held, losing to “Thug Rose” via unanimous decision and marking her second consecutive loss.

Jedrzejczyk is now slated to face number five-ranked Tecia Torres at the UFC’s upcoming FOX card this July. And if she gets back on the winning track, the multiple-time Muay Thai gold medalist is expecting another immediate title shot.

If I were Rose I'd decline that fight. Only way would be of she cleaned out the entire division and JJ could get a strong winning streak again. That or if JJ moved divisions and got another title and defended a few times. Other than that I'd say fuck it.

You're right in that she didn't deserve one after the first fight, but it was probably Danus/the UFC that convinced Rose to take the fight.

But yeah, at least 3 wins in a row I would think.

Agree with first part but how would you market a trilogy that's already 2-0 for rose? This kind of thing killed Cain's rep with JDS. Get JJ into another division and see if she can get a title. If so do a catch weight or have rose move to meet her there so at least the trilogy would be at a different weight. No need to set it up the same as last two, Rose has made it clear she's better there.

If I were here I'd just wait for Rose to lose to someone she already beat, I think Andrade/Claudia/Karolina have a great chance of beating Rose, and JJ beat them pretty handily.

Not sure, but if she's won 3 in a row against top competition, it doesn't matter how it's marketed. At that point, she's earned it.

when will that end though? every 2-3 wins JJ gets another crack at Rose ... until 0-5 ...0-8? if Rose remains champ and JJ permanently the no1 contender this is a realistic possibility, Rose is 25 and JJ is 30 so it could be a rivalry that lasts another 5 years. Even if JJ wins that's only going to setup more rematches. 1-2 then 2-2 then best of 5 etc.

I dont feel she deserves another crack at the belt as long as Rose is holding. The second fight was close but she was still beaten soundly imo. Kinda getting tired of her excuses. First it was her nutritionist and then the judges. Kinda sad to hear that nonsense. She needs to get passed it and accept the losses. Theres no shame. Everyone loses

I don't recall her ever avoiding anyone in particular. I don't think any of
those girls wanted to fight backwards. They were both set on getting the Title.

Or maybe I'm just unaware of them attmpting to fight Rose.

Claudia is her biggest Threat. Great wrasslin plus good jitz. Claudia scares me for Rose!

Andrade she pieces up... She was gettin tagged by Angela Hill. I think Rose
dances around and lights Andrade the fuck up.

Gonna be fun fights though.
