“I want to fight boxing,” Cyborg said on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour. “After the two fights, I want to go to fight boxing and I want the to fight the world champ Cecilia Brooks or it can be [top welterweight contender Layla] McCarter, and maybe after that I can come back for MMA. But I would like to fight in a boxing fight and I want to fight now because now it’s viable.”

She cried(and her fans) for years to get a chance at UFC gold and now wants to move on. I wish her luck but that division is fucked without her.
Hopefully she does better in boxing than in kickboxing...

But if you hold a championship, doesn't your contract automatically renew or some shit like that? I didn't think champions could just quit the UFC like that.

Exactly. Especially since she was like 0-0 (or 1-0?) vs Jorina who is like 44-0

This was the kickboxing equivalent of Conor fighting Mayweather in Boxing.
Similar outcome but Cyborg wasn't finished, and held her own as well.

She wouldn’t be able to go to Bellator but since the ufc and Invicta are under the same banner it may be she could return there if she wanted too. Seriously though, If she leaves the ufc will likely dissolve the 145 women’s division anyway.

If she leaves, there wouldn't be a reason to scrap the division. I'm guessing a bunch of 135ers would move up.
