I'm starting to reconsider if I'm gonna get knocked up. My baby wouldn't have any family really and then the whole shitting it out my little poon. Idk. Need to reevaluate.
More and more people are having those same thoughts as well. America went from a generation of baby boomers, to a current generation that has less interest in having kids.

Like Leigh @Leigh mentioned, I don't think we have anything like that here in uk, i'd be quite interested in seeing who's around me, though as mentioned, the scope I feel should only include people who have committed the bad - very worst of sexual crimes and not the drunk douche who ran through his neighbourhood naked....Are the worst offenders on the list for life or is it just an extended period? I wonder if they are able to portray as being rehabilitated (though is that even possible with child molesters due to sexual preference?) they can be taken off the list?...I don't have any children, though the better half is increasingly broody....the thought of inadvertently living next to pedophile is horrifying.

I think a bigger threat these days is the social media/smartphones. People will get to talking/texting with a kid and soon enough they are looking to come visit. It's common place now for young bucks to be exchanging pics on snapchat and similar apps. A camera pointing out at your driveway/front porch is not a bad idea too. At least it would let you know who is coming/going and at what times.

I have come to terms with this. Just an extra job, and nothing i won't handle. Thanks for the valuable feedback all. :)

Once you're on it its for life. It does usually list the gender of the victim as under 14 or not

Just read an article about a 17yo who met another teenager via some kind of dating site, she said she was 16, was in fact 14... so he has to be on registry for 25 years. Article spoke to the issue of diluting the ability to identify serious offenders because there's been this sort of overzealousness around getting folks registered for any and everything. Trying to find....

I found it a bit disheartening that the judge basically handed down the harsh sentencing and assignment to th registry mostly because they didn't agree with the fact that people met eachother online for casual encounters and such, felt it was inappropriate all around. Seems very non judge-like to put your personal opinions in front of how you apply the law.

I know for a fact at 14 I was able to pass for an 18 year old. 25 years is ridiculous, I feel really bad for him.

Yeah I think even these cases where teenagers who are boyfriend/girlfriend and people are getting convicted of sex crimes is just asinine. But as the article I read (can't find it now) mentioned, the likelihood of any of the laws being refined is extremely low since no one will sign up for a perceived weakening of laws related to sexual violence.
