Dont misconstrue that, I respect the man. He was or perhaps still is a fireman, a job i would never have the balls to do. Although I would be happy to cook for a firehouse.

But calling him the greatest heavyweight of all time is a bit overboard.

Agreed. Stipe seems like a hell of a guy, but best HW of all time he is not. He’s competed against mostly guys past their prime. I like the guy and can’t root against him, but some people throw around the GOAT status all willy nilly

Booooring. The "all american" gimmick was a snooze fest when they did it for weidman, and it's still boring to me now on Stipe.

Not to mention I can only make out about 4 of every 10 words he says.

Also I love Cormier, one of my favorite fighters. No brainer who to root for.

We never know how great Cormier could have been at HW because he conceded to Cain. Cormier was as good at HW as he is at LHW

He's absolutely better than Cain, a lot of guys are. There is not a single part of MMA that Cain does better or even as good as Cormier.

Don't try the sleight-of-hand insult with me. We can remain civil but if I think something that you believe to be stupid, at least have the common decency to say why.

Now I agree with you that Fedor's record is the best and he really was the greatest for a long time but I think that Cain would have beat anyone that Fedor had. I think Cain became unseated because he had (has) some of the poorest-value strength and conditioning coaches money can buy.

I like DC but i hope Stipe wins and wins convincingly. The lack of respect he gets is astonishing. The guy is a killer.

Yeah man we are just gonna have to agree to disagree on Cain, I think he is by far the most overrated heavyweight ever. Porous striking defense, absolutely no sub threat, and no head movement etc....don't even think he was the best heavy in his own camp.

Two guys that get bet against in every fight, they always win..... I think that Stipe is going to walk away with this one tonight. A few years back, I would have picked DC, but he's looked less than great in his last few fights (not just the JBJ fight). Even in his wins, he's not come out clean, Rumble touched him up, Gus arguably could have won, Jones (PED's or not) beat him... I think he's lost a step or two in the last couple of years.

Stipe on the other hand has beaten guys who were "better BJJ/Wrester types that would get him down", he's beaten the guys with "K-1 championship level striking", he's beaten the "big strong fighters would have the size and power advantage over him".... All while showing improvement in every fight.... He's in a peak and groove right now.

I'm picking Stipe via 3rd or 4th round stoppage

Those are all good points and I have to concede on all of them, yet somehow he only got boxed up twice and one was clearly due to an inability to use his main weapon. But your argument is not wasted.

I think it's possible for fighters to win just by downing their opponent and launching a barrage of wild punches that don't have to connect.

My arguement is not wasted, I plan on being wasted by the time this main card starts though, been a tough 3 weeks for me money wise.

I had a dentist appointment 3 weeks, after insurance I had to pay out 1,100

Then a week or so ago I got my Mercedes repaired, that cost 1,000

Then a few days later another different issue with my car, another 1,000 to fix that

Then I get a call while eating brunch with my brother and some people on his birthday, now the insurance says they wont pay for the crowd that my dentist said would be covered, so I got to pay another 400

Combine that with the fact I am still paying down my credit balance and this just royally fucked that up

A lot of TMI there by me, but yeah Im getting my drink on and getting high as shit also tonight

Debauchery land for some fleeting temporary relief

How we do, I'll make the best of it as I always shall

Maybe, but I think only because Cormier has been at LHW, I think Cormier is better and will beat Stipe, but its a tossup fight essentially I just slightly lean Stipe.

I still think Prime Fedor is the best, but if anyone where to challenge that for me it would be cormier not Stipe.

just going off of accomplishments, in the UFC, Stipe's been the best HW so far

I love Fedor too
