If you could upload your brain to a computer and achieve immortality would you do it?

My Personal Answer: Fuck Yes. Bring it on!

Google's Ray Kurzeil believes we will achieve the capability to upload our minds to
computers and achieve immortality within 10-15 years. There are various scientific
models and research going into this.

I found this discussion by Stephen Hawking, Neil Tyson and Particle
Physicists Dr. Michio Kaku and Dr Levin interesting. Michio believes it is
already underway.

Should play from right spot (35: Min mark)

I am still trying to figure out Deja vu and Dreams I have had that become reality months later

I got questions bro
Yeah me too. I mean what is Deja Vu really?

The common explanation seems lame to me. Some deja vu instances
seem so vivid and real. Like you know without a doubt you have done
something and been somewhere before

Glitch in your programming? Glitch in the Matrix?

who knows

as for the opening question I don't know if I would go eternal via robot...I think there may be more to do when this meat vessel expires

That would be my guess too. The Multiverse is currently the leading theory on the Universe.

Nature doesn't seem to make anything in ones.

At one point we were sure there was only one Sun. Then we
discover there a trillions of Suns just like our own

Then we thought well surely there can only be one planet.
Then we discover all those trillions of Suns have planets around
them and planets number in the hundreds of trillions.

Then we thought well dammit there is only one Galaxy though.
Then we discover there are trillions of other galaxies and ours is just
a grain of sand among them.

Now we are asking the question is there only one Universe?

I'm betting there are trillions as well

Good point. I do wonder that

I think if humanity is to survive we must continue to evolve though.
Our physical bodies and short lifespans in the cosmos are so ill equipped
to ever know anything or live long enough to study our own universe.

I think as soon as we have the power we will remove ourselves from these fleshly
bag of skin and bones. Maybe evolve into pure consciousness

can I still cum without a body?

Will watch both. Fascinating topics in terms of both technology and spirituality

But no chance I'd do that. I'm trying to get as many skips out of my stone as possible. But what's the point of skipping stones if it never sinks?

Interesting point of view. There is one reason I'd do whatever technology
they had. Cyborg parts, hybrid genetics. Animal DNA. I'd do it all if it would enable
me to be around when we finally become and interplanetary species. Just to be
around when we solve Dark Matter and Hawking Radiation

It would be awesome to be around for cool shit like this

i totally hear ya. ill add that video to my "watch later" as well. thanks

im guess im discounting alot of the cool technological breakthroughs, or interstellar travel because of the way i see the multiverse nowadays. i used to dream of it. but once the immensity of it truly sank it, i came to the conclusion that earth is the only planet our species will ever inhabit

Not much anymore but as an example I've shot out of bed having had a dream about my friend being pregnant. I knew it, she hadn't even told her family because she'd only just found out but it was so vivid I knew she was pregnant. It freaked her right out.

My husband and I have swapped into each other's dreams too, the human mind is awesome.

I could have understood if we were close friends but we were just work colleagues really who went for drinks after work and lunch every week or so. Definitely friends, just not close friends. My best girlfriend went mad that she had to phone me to tell me she was pregnant and I hadn't had a dream about it.

And this "uploading to a computer" idea is trash. All it will create is a COPY of your thoughts/feelings/memories that just BELIEVES it is you. It is not different then copying a file onto another hard drive.

Get back to me when they can really transfer ME (and not a copy) into an immortal robot body with a fully functional 8 inch penis!
